yeah, but really how solid could that be?
I would say fairly solid. I would bet a lot that the next GTA will hit before Christmas.Quote:

I'm not a big fan of GTA, so it matters not to me; just a thought...
...i've heard people say the same about the Sims years ago...Quote:

I mean if they don't improve the graphics engine, the combat, and keep the bugs down to a minimum, I won't buy it. My decision is not at all affected by media attention, public outcry, or dumbfuck elitists who think all games should be top-down shooters made by Treasure.
Is that directed at me?Quote:

I have no idea who you are. But if the above applies to you, so be it. I'm tired of GTA getting ripped on by gaming's faux aristocracy who think they have better taste just because they like insanely hard shooters with no plot, and no replay value (other than the strictly masochistic variety).Quote:

Don't get me wrong, I like Ikaruga as much as the next guy, but it is far from the end all be all of gaming.
Damn straight.Quote:

It did, indeed. I just got sick of it. I really don't understand why, but I just did.Quote:

Same here. It was fun for a while and then I suddenly didn't care and never really wanted to play it again. Still don't.Quote:

I thought GTA3 was a great game. I bought a PS2 just to play Vice City (and TRU was having its buy 2 games, get 1 free sale). However, Vice City left a sour taste with its abysmal combat engine, especially after nearly everyone was praising it as a great gaming milestone.
Rockstar better be using these two years to significantly improve the GTA gameplay for Sin City. Otherwise, it will still sell a whole lot of copies.
I will be happy with the new GTA so long as they give me more to do. I know that sounds funny considering all the crap you can already do, but you can still do more with the gameplay.
Well this next GTA from what the rumor mill is currently producting, states that its going to use the same engine with improvements in various areas like VC was to III I would imagine. But one more of these expansion packs is not going to hurt GTA, even if VC was not the end all be all like some were expecting, because the first GTA on a new systems with overhauld graphics and online play will be GTA III all over again and you know it.
Seriously. Zelda games are coming out at a greater frequency than that.Quote:

I'll be happy if the next GTA plays exactly like True Crime.
I won't.
True crime was very dissapointing. It did a lot of things and none of them very well, least of all it was boring to just drive around the city and the antithesis of GTA that way.
It does have a lot of potential and if they straighten things out for the inevitable sequel, could be a really great game.
I'm not saying it should be just like it. True Crime had a lot of flaws, but the basic gameplay was for me miles better than the GTA series. If shooting in the next GTA game is still 'point at things and wait for them to die' then I'm not going to have any interest in it.
If anything, that Miami Vice game coming out later this year will be more akin to True Crime than the next GTA (would be like True Crime.)Quote:

Ya know, I've never cared about this series even with all hype surrounding it, but part of me wants to see what all the fucking noise is about. However, in order to do that, Rockstar is going to have to scrap that POS graphics engine they've got because the game contiues to look like a steaming pile of shit. If a game's visuals hurt to look at then it affects my ability to enjoy the gameplay.
Moreover, if these games are as bug-ridden and glitcth prone as I've heard they are, then that's something else that needs to get fixed. Unfinished code was the reason I sold my beloved KOTOR.
I don't mind a new GTA, so long as they bring Chatterbox back. VCPR just didn't cut it in comparison.
well if its the las vegas one it could make it out by then. keep the same pos engine, change location, have 50cent and eminem talk into the mic, have done around a years time. easy.Quote:

I dunno, I think the talk radio is actually one of the only things that Vice City does better than GTA3.Quote:

So if that comes out, 6 years, 10 games. Which is like 3 times what they released in the decade prior to 1998.
Don't forget the upcoming GC Four Swords and Tetra's Trackers (though it is a bit fringe...)
I listened to Maurice Chavez and his "Press the issue" non-stop while playing. It was the only thing worth listening to after a while.Quote:
