3D Ages Fantasy Zone not working with moded PS2?

yah i know Sega Ages is coming out in the U.S, it's just that i bought a moded PS2 and figgured what the heck!

once again what chip do you have, im tryin to help here. and why would you go thru 3 chips and not just get a messiah first?

i just called the store to find out what the chip is. He said he doesnt know since he buys ready moded PS2 from his supplier, he said it might me the "M3" chip, but he's not sure. :(

this really blows, i wanted to play Fantasy Zone so bad! :xx:

Just get a damn J-PS2 and all your modchip problems are over forever.

Might also be that FZ Ages is a CD and not a DVD. Your PS2 might just be messed up and only playing DVDs, like so many of them are.

the thing is, first time i got my U.S PS2 moded, i had a major problem with PS1 games. PS2(u.s/japanese) would work fine, but the colors on PS1 games was messed up, everything was orange. so i decided to de-chip it.

few months later, i took my PS2 to get it moded again and ran into some more problems, can't remember exactly what happened, but i asked them to remove the chip.

third time(which is my current situation), i bought a moded PS2(new model), everything worked perfectly(PS2 u.s/jap and ps1 u.s/jap) untill i tried playing Fantasy Zone. The game loads up till i get the "PLAYSTATION 2" logo then it goes blank, making you think the game is loading when it's not. :(

anyways, yes FZ is a CD(purple bottom), didnt know that could be a problem
Actually, now that you mentioned it, to boot up PS1 games you need to hold the "ON" button for 3 seconds while turning it on, so maybe that triggers the PS2 to load up CDs(as in PS1)

yeah for cd's you have to disable the chip. same with dvd movies.

nm your game is a cd. move along nothing to see here.

dvd9 are dual layered discs (most retail movies and some ps2 games like xenosaga, mgs2 substance, etc.)

yiiippeeeeeee.....IT WORKED!!! :) thanks Froga,

since it's a CD, i had to boot up the game like a PS1 game by holding the "ON" button for 3 seconds and violla, it fired up like it should! :)

and damn this game looks good, the graphics are sweet, 2D with 3D level....gotta go play , thanks again! ;)
