Yeah, if you like time travel then you need to go see this, like right now. I went into this one with low expectations and came away extremely pleased. I only went to see it because I think time travel is one of the most facinating subjects ever, and this movie delivered rather well. It totally washed away the taste of the last bad time travel movie I saw: The Time Machine (I totally skiped Time Line).
So, um, yeah, go see this movie.
So what gives him the ability to travel back in time? Just by reading his journals?
It looks like one of the biggest pieces of shit ever so I don't mind having it spoiled (I already know the ending and basic plot).
They never explain how he does it, only that concentrating on a memory allows him to revist them. Yeah, I wish they had gone more indepth into that, but it wasn't really needed to further the plot.
Having a ever so slight disliking of Aston Kutcher in that 70's Show in 1998 has cascaded and evolved over a 6 year period; resulting in me not wanting to watch this film regardless of what people say.
I actually went in with low expectations as well, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of my favorite time travel myths.
I would enjoy seeing a prequel, which covers his father's journey with his curse.
This is one of those, "I know it's terrible, but I gotta see it anyway" movies. I'm glad to see someone enjoyed it.
And, yes, time travel is the coolest thing ever.

Just rented this and I loved it. Sure, the acting wasn't always top-notch, but everything else was fantastic. I watched the director's cut which has a different ending and an extra scene (because without that ending the extra scene makes no sense) and I had tears in my eyes at the end. I then saw the theatrical ending and thought it was pretty good although nowhere near as moving.
It did kind of bug me that he didn't bring up the photos when the doctor talked about his father's pictures that "never existed," but I suppose that really wouldn't have affected anything anyway.The problem with multiple endings: Going with the director's cut that wouldn't be possible because his father wouldn't have ever had his own journey.Quote:
