A cutscene from Nintendo that can actually be considered cool? The mind boggles.

Holy crap, is that a new Virtual On game or something???
Konami maybe?
And if that's Custom Robo im highly friggin impressed.
No, it's custom robo. And it is only a movie, I seriously doubt you could do all that in the game.Quote:

Well of course it's a movie, expect that kind of gameplay in the new gen consoles. Still that raised my interest for CR 10 fold, and it was already pretty high.Quote:

did anyone else notice that the doom opendoor sound effect played 4-5 times during the clip?
..i'll go kill myself now.
Anyone here ever played Custom Robo for N64? Looks very interesting!
I heard about it when it came out but i didn't have the means of importing it.
Will have to wait till I get home to watch the movie.
Never played original CR on N64, so I have no idea what this game is about, other than it has mechs in it. Hope it actually good. Cube could use some good games :p
Wow, that was cool. Now I really want the game.Yes, and that was highly annoying. I think they meant it for pistons or something in the robots but everytime I hear it I kept wondering where the door in the arena was.Quote:

I swear that Eternal Darkness uses the AIM door open/close sounds. I keep looking at my computer like a Pavlovian dog when I hear it.
yeah, me too. it always bugs me when unimaginitive sound editors reuse iconic sound effects like that.Quote:

(if link doesnt work just search for custom robo on nintendo.com)
they have the old video from e3, which has like the first 1/3rd of this new video, and the 2nd half of the video is all gameplay footage. not sure if theres other camera angles or anything. from the video it looks sorta like powerstone but with robots. and im guessing it has all the customization and whatever extra stuff the older one had.
I feel really, really sorry for them.Quote:

This trailer's been on Game Trailers for awhile now. Good job, but I still have no clue what the game is going to play like.
The one that always ticks me off is the highly overused flame spew effect in movies, it's such a staple I always recognize it immediately and it draws me right out of whatever I'm watching. I think Steel Battalion also uses it during the introduction and it's at the end of the Triplets of Belville trailer. Annoying.Quote:

That certainly was an excellent movie. I like it.
I was impressed. Very nicely done and staged.
Looks like it should play similar to Frame Gride. Did anyone notice the John Woo-esq scene?
I think they should start fining movies that use that same "AiiiIIIIyAAAA!" scream.Quote:

I swear, EVERY SINGLE MOVIE that has someone fall to their doom, that sound bite is in it.
They should replace it with the "Dean scream." ;)Quote:
