My friend's GBA SP has an odd problem. Every now and then, half of the screen goes out. We've been playing Crystal Chronicles, and it's been kinda annoying. Anyone ever heard of something like this happening? What should we do about it?

Use an NGPC.
Seriously though, I've never heard of anything like that. Probably no way to fix it yourself.
Probably just faulty hardware he should get replaced. Either that or the pixels burn and....come back again? Weird, I don't know what it could be, sorry.
Its got to be a faulty screen. Has it happened with any other games?
Yeah, it sounds like something's faulty with the system itself, especially if it's doing it with other games.
Tell your friend to take it back to the place he bought it from and swap it out, or to a local Toys 'R Us, their pretty lenient about that kind of stuff :)
Maybe it hates Crystal Chronicles? O_O
Seriously though, I'd contact Nintendo if it's still under warranty. According to the documentation, I believe they will repair it for free as long as he hasn't owned it longer than three months.

For the most part, my store doesn't check to see if GBAs work. So long as it has the recharger, and the serial number is still on the back of the unit, we'd take it at full credit.
Give it a shot, man. I'm sure there's another GS out there that doesn't check.
