The Sega Saturn 3D Analog Pad
Over the course of my Saturn's life, I've had two of these analog controllers (also known as the "NiGHTS controller"), but they both broke rather easily. The first was in an "incident" quite a many years ago when I was just starting to play VF2. Lau kicked my ass, controller slams on the ground, R-Trigger stopped working. I bought a second one to replace it. It's worked fine (I still use my Saturn every now and then, but not frequently) up until a few months ago. Now, I have the same problem on this pad! No physical damage was done to this one, though. R-Trigeer just doesn't work. No reason. Hell, I even figured I'd pop the sucker open and take a look at it, but there are NO SCREWS in the controller! Is the R-Trigger typically defective in these? Is there any way to get the hell inside this thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Otherwise, I still find it funny that one can detatch the wire from the controller. Supposedly some sort of "expansion-ready" aspect of the controller, it's now worthless. Was Sega ever working on something to hook in through that?
