VPinMAME

Pardon if this had been posted before...

Tonight I found arcade pinball emulator for PC. It seems that it pretty much virtual PC version of any major arcade pinball machine. Graphics are pretty good (but not realistic) and every game that I have played is complete with LCD display and acurate sound. Here are some screen shots of me playing Back to the Future and South Park.

If you want to play some of the classics machines no longer are your local arcade check it out.

Look around for the roms, they're not that hard ot find.

I spent a lot of time with this thing a few months back, it was great getting to play all those old Williams/Bally pinball games.

Sorry 88, the site that I found with the program had teh romz too and I didn't want to upset teh modz.

heh, this is interesting...

i looked at the thread subtitle and thought 'how the hell do you emulate a pinball machine?'

with this in mind, i'm no legal expert, but i don't think the roms would even be illegal in this case..

I would assume the concept, layout and idea are property of the manufactuer. The emu has just as many disclaimer as MAME does.

I tried this before and couldn't get it to work. I really want to play Midevil Madness,

The installation isn't hard but it isn't easy. I'll give a breakdown.

First get the most upto date files. You'll need:

Visual Pinball TB6.1 (visualpinballtb61)
VPinMAME 1.31 (vpinmame_131)
VBS Scripts v3.12 (vpvbs312)
VPinMAME Samples (samples)

First run the Visual Pinball TB6.1 install

Once Visual Pinball is installed extract the VPinMAME files to the folder that Visual Pinball is installed in.

Go to the Visual Pinball folder and run the VPinMAME setup (shows simply as "setup"

Now extract the items in the VBS Scripts zip to the Tables folder in the Visual Pinball folder.

The Samples zip goes into the samples folder.

Now to play a table you must have the table file and teh r0m. The table file must be extracted from the zip and put into the table folder. The rom zip stays zipped and goes into the roms folder.

Now launch Visual Pinball, select open to chose your table. A 2d image will come up, hit F5 to render the table and your on your way. If you need to know what keys are what hit F2.
