At the AOU 2004 Amusement Expo running from today, Sega announced the latest in the VF series, "Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned", developed by Sega-AM2. The game features missions which, when cleared, open up a challenge mode (single player mode). The level of difficulty can be set by the player for these challenges, but regardless of difficulty, only one stage can be played. Also, points will be awarded depending on the Mission Clear results. The enemy AI has been improved to such an extent that it is now difficult to tell whether you are playing a real person or not.

The game introduces a new ranking system, where a "style name" will be given to you depending on the way you fight. When you level-up, your fighting style is checked and your title can change according to the way you have been playing.

All characters have new moves, as well as the traditional moves, and a large number of new items have been added to the game. Existing users of VF4.NET will be able to move over to the new service, retaining their items and other data without problem.

"Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned" is better than "Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution 2", I suppose.

No new characters?

Lame.

Can't wait to play this, hopefully, it'll get a home port stateside.

and yet, if the player saving system is fixed, i'll be first in line when it's released on ps2.

Hope this comes out at $20, I've been passing off the last one for quite some time now.

Actually, what exactly is the player saving problem? I don't think I have encounter this yet...

The only way I'll pick this up is if the console release gets an online mode thrown in. Which I don't see happening.

You will question whether you are truly alone in the room! You will frequently look to your side to make sure no one has picked up the controller!



...yeah well, I'm looking forward to this. Call it a rehash for now, but if it's as improved as Evolution was, it'll be far from "rehash". Retooled maybe.
