-Sammy and SNK Playmore announced a collaboration to produce a series of new arcade games for the Atomiswave system. SNK Playmore will develop The King of Fighters 2004, Samurai Spirits AW (tentative name) and Metal Slug 6 on Atomiswave.
KOF isn't news, but Samurai Spirits and Metal Slug is. Looks like teh MVS is finally dead:)
I salivate at the idea of playing the same games again. The fact that they have sequencially higher numbers at the end of their titles gives me a hard on.
The fact they're on new hardware will certainly mean better graphics. I know that's not enough for the purists, but there's the possibility that new hardware could mean vast gameplay improvements for franchises that've been running on archaic hardware.

I agree - new hardware + new 2-D games developed by SNK = good times
I just hope they branch out and try to make some differing genres (besides all of the fighters ) and not JUST sequels. Mind you I love all of the sequels SS, MS, KoF and the like but lets see what else they can do...

Uh, sure. Maybe. There's no reason to 100% believe that SNK will improve the graphics any in the switch over to new hardware. We'd all like to think that they will, but to be honest, I wouldn't put it past them if KoF'04 used the exact same sprites.Quote:
