Fu-ck-ing shameless... Just fucking shameless..." The mood was in the context of wanting to take back the flag back from Rush, Fox News and all that... Such noble intentions, but with an unbelievably extreme temper tantrum.
If we're talking strictly Franken's partisan books, I've only read tidbits of the humor which I didn't find funny. They're designed to appeal to a specific group, and offend the opposing one, like Ann's. I really don't know how to win the argument, "No dude, you're wrong, my partisan political satirist is funnier." If you're trying to mix in his SNL past, that's another thing. He'll win out given his experience and it's not valid to compare the two against each other there. But, that really wasn't what I took issue with; it was the broad view that liberals have suffered more for one thing, and partisan books by someone like Franken are funny to everyone. He was dealing with a particular partisan book so the premise didn't make sense. The group that's being attacked, viciously at that, will find it distinctly unfunny.
Anyway, I'm wondering what Ann's recent book had to do with what I said. Peter Jennings was the one that challenged Wesley Clark on Moore's deserter comment at a dem debate.
