Anybody hearing anything on whether this game is coming to the U.S? I was hoping some publisher would pick it up. From what I've been reading it is absolutely awesome.

Sadly I wouldn't count on it. I was hoping it would, but I think lackluster sales of both the first title and any non-EA boxing game in the US probably point to no.
They improved the collision detection a bit and now the fighters stay in line with each other better. I don't understand japanese, so I can't comment on about 50% of the game
Is it a big enough jump to warrant an import purchase for a non-Japanese speaking gamer?
On a related note...is this absolutely a better game than the first, so that I should ignore the first and stick with this?
I haven't played the first, but I really like this game...
If you like the anime, it's like a friggin' dream come true.
But I have heard some people saying it's not as good as the first and some saying it is much better. You can check out the Gamefaqs VB2 board for some discussion.

Just noticed that this is finally set to come out here in the US on November 1st for $9.99.
Wow, score. The first was a really solid boxing game, and actually less arcadey than EA's efforts.
I missed out on the first, but I'm not letting that happen again. The $10 price just seals it as a day-one purchase.
