Take a look and read up. I hope some of you like the idea of the game but I more hope that the game actually works and has what they say it has when it's released. It's no World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy or Everquest as far as big names go. But it does have just about everything I could want. If it all comes together well I'm on it.
It looks very very nice, it had been awhile since i looked at screen shots, and better ones have been added and I'm very impressed.
Tracer, after hearing your Shadowbane stories you could pretty much convince me to try anything, up to and including psychodelic drugs, but especially new MMOs.
I'm bumping this because after nearly over half a year of no news and seeming inactivity, an interview went out earlier this month on the 5th of May from the devs of Darkfall and the progress on the game has increased with an expanded development staff. I'm not going to get too hopeful for anything because we've all been waiting for a couple years anyway, but this news is very promising... some people on the official forums are penning an open beta date for late November of this year, early next year at latest. This game if executed properly will be fucking incredible - read the interview, it shows a development team who are well aware of why games like shadowbane floundered and what needs improving in general in mmorpgs. I'm excited:

From reading the features, I get the following impression: itd be cool if they pull this off, but I dont think they will. Theyre saying a lot of the same things that the Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies people said, and look how those games came out (massively broken, needed to be scaled back to be worthwhile).
Yeah I have my built in suspicions too, thanks to Shadowbane, but I'm willing to give these guys some benefit of the doubt, partly because its been so long since I've enjoyed time in an mmorpg that the very ideas he's talking about has me salivating.
The site appears to be down right now. This doesn't happen to be a gothic horror game, does it? I am amazed that no one has jumped on that obvious genre for a MMORPG.

Not a gothic horror game, but I'm sure you'll find gothic elements in there in design or characters/NPC enemies. But this game is about PvP set in a oldworld setting, basically your typical fantasy setting - everything from knights to pirates to bandits, etc. The game supports city/empire building and solo adventuring, but as with any mmorpg, the game is better when played with teamwork and a good crew of people. At least its more fun that way.Quote:
