I say good. Radio, when it comes to this kind of stuff, is nothing but filth anymore. If you want to listen to that kind of stuff, that's one thing. But having all of this crap so previlant on public airways that just anybody can listen to, that's another.
Shock jocks are worthless, and toilet humor is the absolute most embarassing kind of comedy you can do. If these people can put a bit of creativity into coming up with funny bits that aren't just about sex or farting, then keep them around. Otherwise, toss them all out.
It's not about whether you like toilet humor or not. It's about their right to to make jokes about farts and sex. If you don't like it don't listen. No one if forcing anyone to own a radio and listen to the 15% of it that a minority of the masses would deem unsuitable. I don't listen to Stern but I think he should be able to say what ever he wants without living in fear of being fired or fined.
The FCC wants to put an umbrella of fear over broadcasters such as Stern. F' them.
This is such a bunch of crap. If Stern wants to talk that way, then fine. He has every right to speak this way.Quote:

No one is stopping him from spreading whatever filth he wants on his own dime. If he wants to spout that trash on a privately funded radio station owned and opperated by himself, no one is stopping him. His freedom of speach hasn't been infringed upon in any way.
If, however, he wants to broadcast on someone elses dime, he's got to play by their rules, plain and simple.
I have never advocated censorship on these boards.Quote:

No group has done more for free speech in this country than the ACLU, and yet you hate that group with a passion.Quote:

i love howard stern. This is nothing, he'll be fine. Just hope the FCC doesn't get on his ass again. I just feel bad for all the fans living in those 6 cities, hopefully he's back on the air soon.
Well, DeBeers already does (in terms of diamonds anyway). The rarity of diamonds is a complete lie, they have stock piles of them holed away. DeBeers controls so much of the diamond industry that they control the amount of diamonds that are released.Quote:
