You actually raised a pretty valid point initially... then you made that post.

I think you can say something like "man that controller looks ugly" beecause you base that on looks and you can see it. I was thinking more along the lines of "man that GBASP is uncomfortable because I can see it looks like (insert something for comparison)" or "man that GBPlayer looks like crap eeven though I haven't seen it yet but my friend says it does" or "Mario Kart DD is not very good because someonne told me it played like (insert something else)".

I thought that was the reference ;p

This thing seems to have very little functional value, but possibly has some asethetic value (depending on your opinion, of course). If I have the money, I would buy it just to have it sit on top of a TV. An instant conversational piece (what the hell is that? Is that a real sword? No? It is a game controller? Woah, you like to waste $$ huh?....)
