Double short blacks imo. I've been beating them down lately and now all the regular coffee i get tastes really weak.
I only sometimes drink them when I'm tired (or feeling sick, down, etc.) Though when I was training for baseball last year, I found if I got "high" off of Redbull (as in drinking 2-3 in an hour or so) I would have vast performance increases. I miss it too. I've taken to having a cup of black coffee after a meal if I had a coke when I go out to eat. Basically the same pleasant flavor when the aftertaste mixes with the coffee.

i don't drink energy drinks or anything with caffeine myself. quit that over 4 years ago. it's funny seeing all the people day after day drinking an entire pot of coffee just to "get motivated", only to crash around 10am, then guzzle energy drinks and crash again an hour later. they look like hell most of the time too.

i've only ever had a couple of red bulls and vodka (which i only ever did once because, well, yuck). otherwise, i don't think i've ever drank energy drinks. i just have this feeling i won't like them.
i used to drink those starbucks doubleshots every morning (falling asleep during my 8am programming classes was bad), but after a couple years of that they stopped working. i had to stop drinking coffee altogether because instead of waking me up it was actually putting me to sleep.
i do really want to try nuclear waste antidote, but my dad's a nuclear engineer so there's some bias at work there.
I bought a 32 oz Monster Energy a few weeks ago because the can was hilariously large. I had no intention of actually drinking it, at least, not in one sitting til it was the morning I was to take the Greyhound to NYC and I didn't get a wink of sleep the night before. Jittery would not begin to describe it. It was an okay time, minus the having to pee on the bus. I hate using those bathrooms.
Of my immediate friend, I think I'm the only person that doesn't drink coffee or any sort of energy drink.
I think coffee tastes pretty fucking horrible on its own (those mocha latte chocolate bullshit things are ok, but are pure sugar), and I can't seem to stomach any of the Red Bull, Monster or Rockstar varieties.
I did have a thing for the No Fear energy drinks a few years back, though. Haven't seen those in awhile.
Have you tried the Rockstar punch flavor? I thought that was pretty tasty. And the juice Monster ones, like Khaos. I dunno, I have a thing for black coffee so I don't really have that problem. Is it that you just hate the taste of coffee, or that you've just had a lot of shitty coffee?
My sister used to be a manager at a Starbucks. I have tried every single flavor and "style" of coffee there is imaginable (all for free, lol). They all taste the same.
