I really enjoyed this Movie and thought it was both sad and touching at the same time. I was always a little confused about the ending, I have a idea but wanted to see if anyone could offer any insight first.

Stop making threads.

Ignoring the obvious trolling attempts, I will reply.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
I think the best part about Radio Flyer is how the ending can be interpreted in a multitude of ways. Did he really fly away? Did his step father actually kill him on that fateful night? This movie seems to be trashed quite a bit, but I always enjoyed it. However, it wasn't until recently that I noticed all the subtle details. I had just assumed that he really flew away and that was that. Sure it was unrealistic, but it is a movie. A few years ago I sat down and really watched it and began picking things up. I began to think that maybe his step father killed him.
Now, when I watch, those subtle hints seem so obvious. How could I miss a completely different side to this movie? I haven't seen it in a while, so I can''t point out all of the things pointing to the step father killing the young kid. Anyway, that is what I think happened. It completely changes the movie to watch it from that perspective.
Good point UndeadKing, I thought that might have happened too
though I was a bit perplexed about the postcards from other
parts of the Country they were receiving. I will have to
re-watch this film again.
odd timing because this movie just aired on FOX yesterday afternoon.
now im not here to troll (i dont think jeremy was either, or am i missing something?), but i think the movie was pretty terrible. but i do make a habit of watching really bad movies that air on Sunday afternoons in their entirety. so i did just that.
i thought the gas station attendant at the end an extremely lame touch. laughable really.
the ending did leave some questions though. very open to enturpretation. It did seem like the kid must have died though. otherwise he should have come back at some point. and the post cards...hmmm. written by the older son in some psychosis?! i dunno odd...
I think I have it on VHS somewhere. I remember liking it... guess I'll see if I still do.
Not attempting to troll, I just have no desire to view the film again.
The kid flew away and visited different parts of the world, which explains where all the postcards came from. Far as I can tell, the step dad quit beating his older brother for the reason he drove that kid to leave in the first place.
Maybe there was another ending where he did get killed, I wouldn't know because I've never seen it.
Jeremy you're fine, the actual troll had his post deleted it wasn't you, no worries.
I'm glad that there are fans of this wondeful movie.
I liked it also, need to watch it again as I do remember it being both a sad but uplifting film. Had Joseph Mazello in it, didn't it? (little dino loving kid from JP 1)
James
Frodo ruled.
