Ok kano, since you have a lot of insider info, i was looking at game informer and i saw one of the new characters, cobra, and i was wondering what his fighting styles were. And yes, i did a yahoo search and found nothing, so i asked here.

And you say the best game ever made is Zone of the Enders 2. One of the worst games I've ever had the displeasure of playing.Quote:

This is by no means a full review of the game, as I've only spent this afternoon with it, mostly in training mode. But as a longtime fan of fighting games, I've already found numerous problems with MK: Deception.
A few things are pretty glaring flaws. First of all, there are still no 2-in-1 combos, a staple of pretty much every 2D fighting game in existence and, as I recall, even of the original Mortal Kombat games. This means that the only way to combo in special moves is by juggling opponents, which makes for some insanely generic combos across the board with characters. With the pre-determined chained combos, this leaves the only room for combo creativity left to juggles...
...which are horrifically unreliable. The same juggle works maybe 40-60% of the time when executed exactly the same (exactly the same as far as this long-time fighting game fan can tell). Couldn't tell you why the opponent bounces differently sometimes, or why the moves simply pass straight through a falling opponent others, but they do. Wonderful.
And to anyone that would argue that MK: Deception (or Deadly Alliance) isn't a 2D game, I'd argue otherwise. The only thing that 3D movement adds to the game is making projectiles completely useless, another nasty flaw in the gameplay.
These, however, are not the most obnoxious flaws of the game. What's bugged me more than anything is how downright terrible the command input reading is. Performing even the most simplistic moves is retardedly impossible because of how over sensitive the game is when reading commands, and how rigidly it follows the inputs it reads. I've played Street Fighter for years and can do fireballs, shoryukens, 360s, 720s, and any move in any other fighting game I've played without a problem. But performing a damned fireball in MK: Deception is about a 70% chance affair. I can perform a Magneto rejump infinite in MvC2 (which requires about seven button inputs per half second) with about a dozen times the consistency of performing a simplistic DOWN, FORWARD + PUNCH fireball in MK: Deception. You cannot blame my skill--it is the game.
There are other things I could complain about, but those are easily the ones that matter most.
This reminds me, I need to make a DBZ Budokai3 thread. MarkRyan here did a preview of it and shit all over it.
I've been spending weeks sitting right next to it. I hate Dragon Ball Z, I hate Budokai, but this game is bad ass.
Now you're saying MK: Deception is shitty. It must be incredible. Thanks Marky.
It's likely the build you're playing is better than the shitty demo they had in London. Even Halo 2 was pretty cruddy in London.Quote:
