I think you mean "a staple of Midway games." As far as out and out cheating goes, I've only seen the AI use the ability to skip animations and recovery time so far, they seemed more focused on making stupid cheap gimmick battles this time. Besides, the combat engine makes no sense and changes its response ability at random, I wouldn't be suprised if you could Breaker a fatality.Quote:

There's a reason you only get 3 (or is it the max number of rounds?) per match.
I wish you could bait breaks, though. Nothing makes me warm and fuzzy like getting someone to reset a combo in GGXX via bursting, but it seems like they have a 100% success rate.
Breaking throws seems like a waste of resources though, since they only do about 15-20% damage. Typical juggle combos do more damage than that.

It's pretty shitty that you can break combos on the first attack, so once you got someone ready to go down, you just let them attack you and break for the win.
Hotaru has a 35% throw combo that's pathetically easy and many other characters have 27% or so throw combos.Quote:

I meant a combo coming off of the throws that bounce an opponent, not sure if I was clear. Havik also has one, but the best I've done with his is a 27%. Uhh... so I did Kenshi's 9-hit combo (that's what the combo counter said) on Sub-Zero's 10-hit challenge and it counted. Not that I'm complaining because I'm glad to have that done and it gives me hope that the 12-hit will also not be able to count right, but still. Wierd.
[edit] Whee! More glitches! In Edenia I now have Jade standing in both her original location waiting for me to bring Rain to her and at the entrance to their hideaway gloating over Rain's body at the same time. Add that to the list along with floating defeated bodies.
The breaker does very little damage.
Anyone have any hints for beat the Scorpion that deals 300% damage, cheats, and heals? Using Sindel I can occasionally get him down to 1/3 of a bar and then he'll suddenly bust out with his 78% spear combo or something and kill me.
P.S. Havik's throw juggle actually deals up to 32%, I wasn't doing the final hit of the combo earlier.
Finally beat that damn Scorpion a while ago, and with a flawless amazingly enough. I think he must've just given up.
All the (known) characters are unlocked and the krypt is almost empty, all I need now is a good source of gold and onyx koins to polish that off. Feels good to be coming up on a totally completed unlocking session, these mission-based fighting game segments take so much out of me. I think I might also do a little actual practice with a character tomorrow.
For those of you who sent me invites: Sorry, but one of my roommates was torrenting so my ping was too terrible for me to play. I tried once but was dropped within a couple seconds, but I'll probably be on tomorrow night with Mr. Kicky-Fast.
