Some PC Shoot em's by an indie dev'r.

I was looking for a PC Poker game with multiplayer via TCP/IP when I came across a developer called Small Rockets. Besides finding the Poker game for my brother, I noticed they have two shooters for the PC which look very snazzy! They both have demo's and the full version has online scoring! As far as the eye can see, they look promising. I'm a bit busy right now to try the demo's out, so be a sport and do it for me! :p

The games are Ultra Assault and Star Monkey. They have other games but they didn't quite catch my eye.

I have the same poker game. They were practically giving it away, at Fry's Electronics. I'll have to check out those shooters, when I have the time.

I've noticed, that they also have console games.

I'm a huge Fiendish Games/Small Rockets fan. I have all of their titles.

That developement team fucking rocks, they seem to be working on console stuff now though, seeing as the last release was more than a year ago.

The demo for Star Monkey sucks. It lets you play for 15 seconds then keeps hounding you to buy it.

Very true, the demo sucks hard. The game itself, though, was worth every cent of the download.

My philosophy on game demos is that if you don't want to give away part of the game then don't make a demo. The only thing time-limited demos do is piss off your potential clientele by forcing them to play the little bit you've given them in high-speed mode. It's just not fun, and a non-fun demo means no sale. At least usually.

In the case of Star Monkey I heard enough good things to override that rule and get it anyway. I'm glad I did, but the demo still sucks.
