What does your avatar mean to you?

I spied this topic in a seperate forum and thought it'd been yet another chance for our members to further promote their coolness amongst there jaded brethren.

In another words,...

Another Show and Tell Thread! (just what the world needs most)

Basically, describe the origin and personal relation you hold with the avater that your currently pimping. It could be a connection with film, song, comic you admired, or it could a proud job of customization you did with your work. And if you'd like to share the specs and details you took to create it, that's fine ,too.

And yeah..., this could be a chance to put your self in the spotlight a give an absurd and comedic response, like,
"i chose teh sameri, b'cuase tey fuckin pwn U aLL!!!111"

...and all that that applies to.
And if your avater is simply meant to be enjoyed by everybody else, that's respectalbe as well. Post that.
But I would like some true insight into what inspired you to host your image/creation/Samari of Ownage. And don't skimp on details. Let out what ever emotion your avater inspires in you, and back storys are cool, too. But please don't tell others what, or how, they should feel when they view yours. This is about how you feel when you watch it.

Mine expresses the the outer world, only in this instances viewed though the eyes of a minor; it deals mostly with the mythology of how a mind can be lain to rest, even before death, and I've been told staring at it directly causes you to look and judge own soul and how it rates with mine. Dang, if I still had the Koroshiya 1 manga on my comp I could make a cool Kakihara one.

I switch mine about every week out of boredom.

Right now its from Getbackers cause I like the character designs. I had to edit it a bit in photoshop cause it had japanese letters all in his cool hair. Then I added some simple lil animation to it in flash. The animation is actually a glitch I didn't mean to happen....but it looked neat so I kept it.

Mine means I like cool looking robots in cel-animated fight videos.

I like Samurai, that's pretty much all there is to it. I like sword techniques and the Samurai concept of honor and servant-hood.

Its from “My life as a teenage robot” on Nickelodeon

I chose the main character Jenny because deep down I’m just a little girl robot trying to make her way in this hard hard world of being a teenager.

That, and I like the show for it’s Betty Boop area cartoon style and the coloring goes with the GameGo color scheme.

I really like seeing pop stars try to make it outside thier element and fail miserably because of the pressures put on them by themselves, society, peers, and of course your run-of-the-mill stalker. After failing, I also like seeing them (and several people around them) go completely insane.

Oh and there was this little anime called Perfect Blue that was (to me) one of the best written, best animated, and best presented of it's kind.

Because The Evil Dead is very, very........ very awesome.

I remember walking into an arcade and seeing this glowing arcade unit sitting in the middle of the floor. I put my quarter in and marveled at the amazing graphics (For it's time) that were presented by the arcade game called TRON.

I saw the movie about a year later at a friend's house. He had a laserdisk player and we rented 3 movies for it. One of the movies was TRON and it's been one of my favorite movies ever since. The movie was quite an acheivement for it's time and symbolised the coming of home computers and computer gaming.


I'd love to know what Neozeedeaters avatar represents. :)

I chose the Vic Rattlehead avatar because I'm a fan of Megadeth and I wanted a dark, non-gaming related avatar to contrast with the more common colorful cutesy Japanese ones. I don't have anything against colorful cutesy Japanese avatars(I love them) but I wanted something a little different.

I have been meaning to change my avatar for a while but I'm waiting until something grabs me.

The guy who did thier art is a real hack. He hardly paints these days and does shitty renders. Renders that would even make a day one 3DsMax amature laugh. The Iron Madien covers are good though, Power Slave owns.

Hack or not, everyone that had an interest in Metal, wore at least one of his Iron Maiden works in T-shirt form.

My bro hand drew the picture from the album Number of the beast. He did it in less than 15 minutes and it looked exactly like the original, if it was done in pencil. God, I wish I had that kind of artistic talent. :(

I don't own on maiden shirt. All of mine are BG and festival shirts.

I don't own any Maiden shirts.. but of the metal shirts I have I hardly wear them. Except the Emperor shirt and one Opeth one.

You wouldn't know that going to a “real”metal concert. Blue jeans, leather, and metal T-shirts as far as the eye can see.

no, we usally only see those people on stage. Rock star pants never went out of style in metal. The Front man for mettalica goes as far to get girl jeans because there no longer is a US manugacture who makes them for men.

This avatar came about because Hawaii's flag has a union jack in the corner and red, white, and blue stripes. Being bored one day, I figured I'd see how it'd look if the stripes were replaced by the 13 red & white ones. The bitmap looked kind of neat and ended up being about avatar-sized.

It's starting to grate a little, though and needs replacing.

My avatar is a picture a friend of mine done in pencils, and I really liked it. If I ever make an album, no matter what style, I want this pic as the cover art.

Actually, I didn't have an avatar for just about forever and then the "Make an Avatar" thread happened. Though Rtificial made a few good ones, K3V's was just perfect, inspired by classic arcade games without being a direct rip from one, unless that bug's from something I've forgotten. Which it might be.

My avatar, which has been donated by a kindly and talented poster (teh Rtficial) depicts a powerfull kicking attack, which is enhanced in force ten fold by the fact that it involves a pummel horse.

It used to be my icon back when I worked on a popular emulation site, and people came to identify me with it so it stuck. Truth be told, it wasn't something I made for that purpose, but more like I needed an icon, and had just made this one a little before, and since it was classic gaming related I used it.

It's a picture of my Real Doll, whom I love very much.

I use photos of myself..."so everyone can see my true identity!"

I'm a PC-Engine/Turbografx fanboy. My av is one of the pics in the back of some of the import CD manuals that beautifully illustrate how *not* to treat your game. I got a kick out of them, and the water bucket one is my favorite, so there ya go. I don't have a scanner, so I took a digicam pic of it, hence the slight blurriness.
