WMD's or not we were gonna invade Iraq. The problem is our president was stupid enough to actually use that argument to send us over there. Running around waving that in front of your face, my face, and every other countries face as the reason we are going to liberate Iraq.

-If you had a country that your father failed to take down, that also happened to be the one place on this planet where oil (cause in case you didn't know, we are running out of it) is in abundance, and all your best college/skull&bones buddies are oil bigwigs who are running out of places to drill and they just happened to have donated an insane amount of money to your campaign...

I guess those are all decent points and I don't feel like arguing anymore (like saying that Iraq gave their illegal weapons to Syria:P), either way it still doesn't seem like Vietnam to me. I may be getting sent over their soon and I'm in agreeance with the President as are most military personal so it doesn't really matter to me.

I know a lot of military personnel and they tell me that they think a terrorist is in charge of this country.

Yea, because the price of gasoline has gone down so much since the war in Iraq, right?

No, wait, it hasn't. And there are no signs that it will go down.

No one ever said the price was gonna go down,

just that we were running out of it.

The profits made from oil in the region would never touch the money spent on the war, so the "blood for oil" slogan wears tired.

But we're not at that point yet.

Crisis will come when we hit the point where we have used more than we have discovered. This is roughly what happened in the 1970s, when we were not so dependent on foreign oil.

But it hasnt happened yet for the whole wide world.

Bottom line, the price of gasoline is still high because we're not stealing Iraq's oil and using it for our own cars. We are still at the mercy of OPEC.

I think all those taxes for roads is what's keeping other cars independent from gas coming onto the market. Soon as we switch over to something else, they're gonna be whining about their income.

I don't neccassarily agree with this but if we're running out of oil maybe going to war for oil is somewhat neccassary, at the same time taking a horrible dictator out of power. If we do run out of oil then there's a lot more shit then just a war with Iraq. As I said I don't neccassarily agree with this.
