I can't really compare it to the other home version, because before 9, I only have home versions 1 ~ 4. Arcade wise, to be honest, seeing as how each new game has a ton of old songs + new songs, typically the latest is the greatest. I really like the PM9 song selection, and the interface/theme, so that's why I'd recommend 9. I'd say, though, you probably aren't going to go wrong no matter what version you buy.

Man, you must track down some more...esp 8, 11, and 12

Don't make me revoke your chan card, shidoshi. They're still one of the most popular IIDX artists with new songs on every release. Of course there'd be another album. There's a BeForU III on the way from what I read as well.
