Saturn recommendations
I'm hoping the truly Saturn informed can help me get to know this system a little better. I'm looking for game recommendations, but I'm not looking for the really obvious ones. First party, Treasure, Capcom, Neo ports, etc. I know about all of those.
Does the Saturn have any (rough) equivalents to games like: The Adventures of Little Ralph, Tomba, Brave Fencer Musashi. I dunno, just quirky, unique platformers/adventure type stuff?
What about a decent 3D platformer? Is Croc any good? Are there any others besides Croc?
Besides the well known ones, any really neat shooters out there? I enjoy The Gamer's Paradise. The weirder in theme, or more unusual in play mechanics, the better. I've got "standard" shooters up the butt.
What about more games along the lines of Elevator Action Returns, the 3D Bomberman titles, uh I dunno... Just games that are a little unique, stick out a bit.
And what about other genres not normally associated with this system: real time strategy? turn based strategy? simulation (like simcity type stuff)? any less known english RPGs out there?
I did a few searches on this, but most recommendations were of things I already know about. Any ideas would be cool.

Legend of Oasis is pretty good, and there is a Hercules game that is decent if I remember correctly.
Astal is another platformer you might want to look into, while not great, has some pretty good looking sprites and can be found fairly cheap I believe.
And I'm sure you know about Dragon Force to get your strategy game fill.

Platformers: Clockwork Knight 1 and 2, Astal, the best version of Earthworm Jim 2, Burning Rangers etc.
Shooters: Strikers 1945 (<3), Soukyugurentai, Gradius Deluxe Pack, Salamander Deluxe Pack, Parodius DP, Darius Gaiden, etc.
That's off the top of my head... click on my game list in my sig, and look at Saturn stuff. Everything I own (except Sonic R) is good.

Dont forget Shining Force 3, especially 2nd and 3rd scenarious that never came to US. Wonderful strat rpg.
Dragon Force 1&2 is also should be on that list.
Princes Crown is rather hard to find but comes very recomended. Its action rpg/beat them up.

d'oh! Dragon Force. How'd I forget that one? Ok, scratch strategy stuff, definitely got to give that one a go. Shining Force too.

I always wanted to try Dragon Force 2, but everything I read about it implied it was a poor sequel.
That combined with not being able to read it (even with using an omg translation faq!) was enough for me to pass on it.
I can second Paradius Deluxe Pack - good stuff fo'sho.
-
I found The Strat/RPG Mystaria (Blazing Heroes) very enjoyable.
-
I didn't.
Have you tried it recently?
eekers.

What system is Thunder Force V best on? I keep meaning to buy that...

I have no idea what it's like on PSX but it's perfectly fine on Saturn. No complaints.
