I was wondering the same thing when I saw the pre-order for it at EBgames about a month ago. Very weird indeed.
Is it just me or does sony really enjoy pissing gamers off?
For reasons like this, I modded my PS2 and I kinda regret it in a way. I recently purchased ZOE2 so I went back to the first ZOE game which I never finished when it was first released and to my surprise, I couldn't save the game anymore. I can load the saved file with no prob, but when I try to save, it takes me back to the boot up screen with the memory card and the game disc showing. :(
Metal Slug 3 was on those release lists and we all know how that turned out.
Well, now Metal Slug 4 is on the list lol.

Next up, Fatal Fury 1 and 2 will be packaged as Fatal Fury Ridiculously Awesome 2D edition for PS2, coming in June 2005.
I wish they'll just remake or just simply port over the MotM and Card Fighters Clash games from the NGPC to the GBA~~ :(
Wait, wasn't SNK working on a SNK vs Capcom for the GBA?

Who said Sony passed it? Gamestop putting it up doesn't mean it's going to come out... in fact I'm fairly certain it won't.
Even if it does pass, SNK should just hide in the other games as extra so they still get their sales margin.
Now does every company have to get the go-ahead by sony to release anything here? I'm lead to belive that 3rd parties are gonna need to force publishing their own titles if they want to get past sony's tactics for bullying over what we're allowed to play.
Yep and a new KOF.Quote:

There will NEVER be a North American release of KOF2003 and Metal Slug 4 on the PS2.
Ever.
Move along.
I wouldnt want to buy MS4 anyway.
I would.
It's not the BEST game ever made, but I'd still buy and play it.
Speaking of KOF games on PS2, http://www.kofmi.com :S

So what's the fee if somebody just releases a game anyway?Quote:

Will you be angrier when you find out that they don't even play the games they approve / disapprove of? They just watch little videos of them and judge them based on visuals alone.
Dude, the entire game's barely 5 hours long. You could probably finish it in one sitting, two if you wanted to leave the power on overnight.Quote:

For starters, the game looks like crap on HDTV, but looks nice on my regular Wega TV-way nicer than KOF2002. The backgrounds are redone in 3D and are far superior to the 2002 garbage- the pixellation is gone and the textures look better, along with some nice colors. Just like in KOF2002, the portrait are is in higher resolution. There is a remixed soundtrack, but the difference between that and the OG soundtrack isn't very profound- the music is generally dull (SNK really needs to go back to soundtracks like KOF95).
Gameplay is just like the Neo Geo, and is standard KOF control. However, more buttons = dedicated tag buttons. I'm using an X-Arcade stick and have the button layout to match MVC2, and it feels pretty good.
This is the best KOF conversion/upgrade on the PS2- trouncing 2002 in every way.
Just my 2 cents...
Are you playing the import?
Because you know, KoF 2002 / 2003 double pack comes out in I think a week or two for only 40 bucks...
That info on the decision making is just...tragic, not surprising, just very sad.
'96 music rules them all.Quote:

The only sore spot is that this won't be part of the massive SNK online collection.
I enjoyed 2002 alot, and yea, it is a dream match like 98.Quote:

2002 is a damn fine game, I really enjoyed the time I spent with the DC version.
No way. Boxer guy - can't remember his name - is awesome.Quote:

Seriously, 98 is still the best KOF I've ever played. And the Sports team, while I admit, Lucky and Brian are jobtastic designs, they are both strong characters, especially Lucky.
Heavy D! is in a class of his own, as the single coolest, most unique boxer in 2D fighting games. He is still the only character *ever* in an SNK game who could power up his moves. That, in itself, should have given him a solid spot in the roster forever. He's still incredibly popular now. Though the fact that nobody else could remember his name doesn't really support that...
Exactly what I wanted to say, but couldn't find the words for. I also know Heavy D by name, though honestly I never used him much. There is seriously no reason to play KOF2k2. Least fun KOF ever.Quote:

The best thing about KOF 2003: The Griffin.
SNK's best wrestler ever. They unfortunately changed his 360 moves into Quarter circle moves, though.
I see you are a man of good taste. Tizoc is one of the best grapplers ever. He's so damn fast. Back when 2k3 was first announced I was the most pleased with his space on the roster as I've always wanted him to be in KoF after using him so much in MotW.Quote:

All I can say is, if '98 comes out in the US online for PS2.... it's on.
I'm a bit sad to hear about '02, if that's true. The reason I want to play it is because some characters have really improved since '98. (Kyo, for one.) Plus, it has characters like Vanessa that I can't have in '98.
AW COME ON, WHAT THE FUCK?!

Always mother fucking DELAYS!! :curse: :curse:
I was looking forward to playing this next week. What the hell is going on?!
They want to compete directly with Capcom Fighting Jam? This is MADDENING.
Might be news to some (certainly was a neat surprise for me) - KOF 2002/03 will be hitting Xbox Live in June.
The PS2 version has been out for a couple days now, btw.
Zerodash ought to be feeling pretty salty right now... not only did we get KOF2K3 on PS2, but it's totally uncensored. :p
I can't wait for the USA release of the PS2 Metal Slug 4/5 Combo Pack :D (last date for it I heard was April 15th 2005)
Glad KOF 2002/2003 (USA PS2) finally came out :)
I need to pick this up toot sweet.
2k3 owns my ass.
And I'm loving it.
Does anyone know a good way to chain the tag in moves (that uses a super gauge) into a combo because I'm having a hard time coming up with combos that uses the tag system. There doesnt seem to be a good faq on 2003 on gamefaqs.
