There is no excuse for it really. We should have a serious show with animation quality of at least gundam wing or the old macross do you remember love movie.

What is being done now is purely for money reasons becuase they know adult fans will buy the toys regardless how bad the show is.

I just bought Samurai Jack Season 1 on DVD... and this is amazing. I really enjoy the fighting and stuff included in this show. Very stylized and cool.

Okay this has to be said: Most of the redone shows on Adult swim (I think it's for Adult swim) suck. Things like Aqua Teen Hunger force are funny for the first two episodes, but the random humour becomes old as soon as the novelty of talking meat wears off. I know the shows are cheap to produce, but I hate them.

That's my rant, I suppose. The only one I remotely like is Sealab, but even those become old. The characters become lame, the animation looks rigid and some of the jokes run on too long. I also dislike that the shows get rid of gags for more chaotic humour (people doing things simply to get jokes off, reguardless of whether or not it fits the character).

It's over.

I just hope that someone out there shares my distaste.

They need more thinking humour like venture brothers. Right now Sealab seems like a show a few blood squirts away from becoming a regular CN show.

I completely agree with you about random humor. I've been saying this since the shows debuted.

They're like pancakes. First you're all excited for them, but by the end you're fucking sick of 'em.

Welcome to 8 months ago.

Shut up nobody said that 8 months ago.

I did.

I've always hated Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but my friend just showed me new shows done in that general style, and I absolutely hated every show had me watch. The Brak Show, Sealab, Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, etc.

Before my post I heard a couple of guys telling each other how great those new cartoons were. I told them that the shows were garbage, devoid of any clever or situational humour and were full of 1 dimensional characters who'd whore themselves out to jokes reguardless of character. They make recent Simpsons look like masterwork. So that's what brought on my little rant.

I just bought Simpsons Season 5 and the commentaries are top notch. These guys did such good commentaries on the Futurama boxsets and the Simpson ones are surpassing them in some portions. I find it funny to see what they like and laugh at.
