Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
From Game Science
Quote:
This week's Famitsu reveals the first solid details on Ace Combat 5. The game has been given the subtitle "The Unsung War" and will feature full 3D graphics for the story parts. The game is still on schedule for release this year, but currently is around 50% complete. An official update on
acecombat.jp is expected shortly.
Further details:
- the player will fight in formations of 4 aircraft
- this time, your allies will fight along side you in consort planes
- there are other games where you can play like this, but the dev team wanted to give that genre the Ace Combat treatment
- radio communication will feature heavily
- the story has a little connection with Ace Combat 4
- there is online play, but it will not require the HDD
- the planes are mainly based on real aircraft and more than 50 official names have been licensed
- the size of the game is about twice that of part 4
- a big fuss is made of the lighting, with weather and time also changing throughout the missions
shit yeah. that sounds excellent. i mean really, what more could you ask for? looks like Namco is about to make the best flight combat game ever...yet again.
