I clearly made a thread to house all of these loose cannon threads.
Anyway, I think I'll pass on this. There's just too much else to buy and I like Inspector Gadget quite a bit.
This is Inspector friggin' Gadget, he deserves his own thread.
Did the cartoon series ever have an origin story for Gadget? I don't remember...
He slipped on a banana peel.Quote:

Totally serious.
I believe it. It sounds really familiar.
I think I had a spanish comic where that happened, actually. I wasn't sure if it was proper Gadget canon.
Anything for a little attention, eh Jeremy?Quote:

*EDIT* Your link is wrong. You have to go to the main news page to find the link...I cut and pasted the text...
Shit, I'd rather wait for a box set, but that's up in the air...bah. I'm sure a lot of people would want to wait for the box set but if they do, then that'll fuck the sales of the stand alone DVDs and then we probably won't get a box set...what a paradox. I guess I'll buy the stand-alones...Quote:
Inspector Gadget - GO GO GADGET! The Original Arrives on DVD
Posted by David Lambert
3/24/2004
The original Inspector Gadget arrives on DVD this July, in the first of what are hoped to be a series of releases. The first release will include five episodes, in order of when they originally aired, which are:
"Gadget in Winterland"
"Monster Lake"
"Down on the Farm"
"Gadget at the Circus"
"The Amazon"
The DVD will also include the original Public Service Announcements and an interview with producer (and DiC Chairman/CEO) Andy Heyward. This should include the questions submitted by fans from TVShowsOnDVD and other participating websites. DiC and UAVCO, who are releasing this disc together, are currently searching the vault for any other bonus features they can find.
The official release date will be July 6, 2004. The DVDs will have a list price of $14.99, and the studio expects them to sell for about $10 in most stores. If these releases prove successful, they will continue to release Inspector Gadget episodes in the as-aired order, with the possibility of a half/full season box set later on.
Cover art wasn't made available just yet, but we'll have that for you as soon as we can, so stay tuned.
Yes Andrew, all for attention, it couldn't at all be because I genuinely enjoyed the show, and am extremely excited about it getting a DVD release. Dole, thanks for posting the text, I just posted the URL of the link from the main page, that I figured would take you to the news piece directly.
I'm pretty excited about the DVD release as well. I just told my girlfriend about it and she's jazzed as well (hell, her cell phone ring is the Gadget theme song, or at least it was until recently when she got the Muppets theme). I just wish it was a box set and not individual volumes.
