Had to clean and box all my stuff up since I'm moving down into the basement... I've found some crazy shit. Old shoes, pink Converse high-tops, from when I was three. An entire box of silver dollars. Missing socks to complete a pair. Two old, dysfunctional CD players.
Best I found was five bucks, which I spent on lunch and extra food the next day. Mm, cookies.
I always find journals.
The other day I found a journal from when I was still in middle school. It was great going back and reading it.
I always find old games I bought and forgot I had. Whenever I make a run to a flea market, pawn shop, etc, I bring home a stack of cheap games and sometimes I'll forget which ones I bought, discover them months later, and have a great time.
When I was home on my last break, one of my friends came over to play NES games, we put in the new cartridge slot, and I got the collection out. I asked him what he wanted to play, and he says "Jackie Chan." I tell him I don't have Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu, though I wish I did, and he points at the boxes of games: I did have it after all.
I'm still not sure where I got it.
I also like digging through boxes of old vending machine toys and junk I had as a kid, because sometimes now I can identify what the molds were from. I had a bunch of little multicolored rubber robots which I discovered to be a bunch of Zaku IIs, a Gyan, and a Gelgoog from Gundam. I also had two awesome Macross rubber stamps, and a glow in the dark rubber Valkyrie. There's still a lot of stuff I had as a kid that I can't figure out what properties they were taken from, if any, but it's really cool to go back and be able to identify this stuff.
And on the subject of things I wish I could find... I misplaced my copy of RC Pro Am 2 at home, and sometime when my roommate was moving shit around, my Battle Royale shirt got lost, probably in his disgusting, festering heap of trash he calls his side of the room. This does not please me.
Grave- got a digital camera? The "What the hell is this?" game sounds like a fun forum project. :)
