Is this Breathtaking in the Seinfeld sense or in the good sense?
Is there another link that has the direct download?
Breathtaking in an awesome sense.
Resident Evil 4 looks like it will actually have solid gameplay, the one thing every RE before it lacked. I just hope they didnt destroy the whole Shadowgate-esque problem solving core in the process. It's funny that the head redneck looks like Barry, and is that Sherry or the President's daughter in the pic?
Killer 7 looks just plain awesome. I think I saw it say "post-modernist devil may art" or something  Which is a strange way of marketing it, I've always seen it as the natural progression of film noir manga games like Policenauts.
Also, "Meiwaku Seijin Panic Maker"(?) looks nuts. I doubt it will come out here.
RECV was a great game with solid gameplay. I don't know what you are on.
Well... I mean specifically the fighting system.Quote:

Screw RE and Killer 7, I want that game at the end. What can I say, I am a lover of all things insane.
By insane you mean 'gay', right?
By gay you mean "kick ass", right?Quote:

That reminds me, VF4:Evo2 needs to replicate submarine warfare better this time around, because it was seriously lacking in the last release.Quote:

There's nothing in the movies not in the screens in Game Informer. But now you get to see it move.Quote:

I'm excited for both as well. I've always played through the RE's as they were released (save for RE0), but after a while I just got really annoyed with the tank controls, and the utterly retarded tasks you were forced to perform (as Mech's example so eloquently portrays). That said, RE4 looks pretty fucking amazing, I hope it turns out as well as it looks.

Face it, you people wanna get your zombie fix and capcom's just giving you product.
Wow. I think for the first time it the history of the series, I'm actually interested in owning a Resedent Evil game. That looked amazing.
And since the villians aren't undead zombies, I'll be able to play it without the fear of God in me.
I think I might just reserve this today.
Is it still Cube exclusive, or has Capcom planned for other platform releases?
well when you click the link and one of them says "download hi-res avi-69mb", id imagine thats a direct download.Quote:

Well, I am excited about both RE4 and Killer7. I am still not completely sold on the idea of "new" direction for RE, and lack of zombies, but graphically game looks amazing. It cant be worse than RE:CV :p
I will try to watch the vids at home tonight, if they still be there.
That RE4 video looks pretty damned good. But for supposedly having no zombies... the villagers sound a hell of a lot like zombies. Just slightly more inteligent ones that can speak every once in a while.
And Killer 7 looks bad ass... I love how bloody it is.
Definitely looked like Sherry to me. Isn't she supposed to be 20 in RE4?Quote:

RE 4 looks amazing, look at the lighting effects as he enters the town in that thunderstorm. They better get that shit here this year. And that's just the very beginning of the game. There is a whole lotta shit we havn't even seen yet. Killer 7 looks really wild too.
Minor spoiler I guess.Quote:

That RE4 vid looked insanely awesome. I didn't think Humans would be so creepy and that according to what Frogacuda said should be awesome.
Killer 7 looks cool too but looks like a really intense graphics heavy atmosphere in a point and click type game.
RE 4 looked amazing, maybe this will be the RE game that I actually enjoy. K7 looks amazing as well, starring... Kevin Smith, I love it! That cel shaded game at the end of the vid looked neat, anyone know the name of it?
Meiwaku Seijin Panic Maker.Quote:

It's that different and excellent looking.
Thanks for that info, Astro. Any word on a U.S. release for it?
I read just last week that the game would still be full of the types of puzzles that people associate with the Resident Evil series... the producer said "it wouldn't really be a Biohazard game without those" or something to that extent.Quote:

I want both of these games.
Killer 7 is something that's interested me since way back when I first heard about it, while RE4 is something that's just now starting to grow on me.
How old was Sherry in RE2? I read that this was only six years after that. I always imagined she was younger than 14.
RE4 looks as good as ever (with voice acting just as cheesy as ever), but Killer 7 could easily just be lots of flash with little substance.
Kind of like Devil May Cry. :chunobi:Quote:

I must say, I really need to know more about Killer 7's gameplay... it doesnt look all that fun in the video... like a lightgun game... without the lightgun. Certainly looks interesting enough though.
Alien Panic or whatever did look sweet. Okay I'll be fair with RE4 now that i'm out of class. Really I expect more of the same out of Capcom, if nothing for better or worse they're the masters of the rehash with improvement. And I do like the idea of semi-sentient zombies (alluded to in RE3 i believe with that guy's journal about feeling the hunger)
But the control has been ass every time I've played it with little gimmicks like the quick dodges and shit, has this dented sales? No, will they keep it in, probally as its not seen as broken.
Zombie head poping with the shotgun in? (checks video again) ooooooh yeahh... classic. But i stand my previous slander.
There aren't zombies at all in this game. None, 0, zip, zilch, no zombies whatsoever. There was an interview posted on the RE 4 thread here where the director claimed that there'd be no zombies whatsoever.Quote:

Ok, Watched the video and RE4 looks amazing. Still shooting those vilagers wasnt as fun as if it was zombies, but some moments, like sniping the thrown knives and axes, boat fight against the giant aligator and the troll encounter looked totally bad ass.
Killer 7 looked very nice style wise, and its definately going to be different and unique experience.
But WTF with last game there??? Looked really retarded.
Will it make you feel better if i call them not-zombies?Quote:

Funny... cause as I mentioned the villagers still sound EXACTLY like zombies... just slightly smarter... so shall we call them pseudo zombies?Quote:

A modified version of the T-Virus... I'm sure.
I wonder if Kevin Smith will go all Spike Lee on Capcom...;)
From an interview with IGN...Quote:

"No zombies," said Kobayashi. This revelation comes as a first for the franchise. Whatever is going on in the village where Kennedy finds himself stranded, it doesn't involve the undead. That noted, the villagers themselves are abnormal in many ways and video snippets of scenes from the game showcase battles with water creatures and ogre-like characters. "I can't be too specific, but I can say this: the villagers aren't infected with the T-Virus," the producer explained.
That which we call a zombie by any other name would smell as rotten.Quote:

The fact is the villagers are infected with "something" and they want to kill you, so although they may not technically be zombies, functionally they are.
Wasn't there some talk of a symbiote of some kind? Maybe they're infected the same way Leon is, only in the bad way.
Yeah, there was mention of a parasite somewhere. I think they scrapped the whole "Gaiden" storyline though...Quote:

The original idea was Leon being infected, and becoming somewhat of an anti-hero. According to the interview about 2 weeks ago, that idea has been scrapped.Quote:

Well you have two enties right now, Umbrella being one, and who ever Wesker is working for being the other...which I wouldn't be surprised is Umbrella themself  :)Quote:

IGN had a small update a week ago, I posted it in the RE4 thread and it stated that Umbrella IS involved. Anyways, I like the idea of being hunted by semi-intelligent hicks with scyths and pitchforks more than zombies. There's only so much you can do with zombies, there's no denying that having enemies that can use tactics and weapons opens up a lot more possibilities than having the same old oblivious zombies wondering about. The chainsaw guy is probably the scariest enemy yet.
That was one creepy and impressive video. Seems like RE4 will establish the franchise as top-tier once again.
Killer 7 looks as cool as ever. Production Studio 4 rules.
I don't know how "semi-intelligent" the hicks around you are but the ones down here aren't much smarter than the zombies in the first RE.Quote:

Zombies were getting old. It's nice to get a break in the franchise.
ZOMBIES NEVER GET OLD! They scare the living crap out of me. I'm nearly certain they always will, too.
You're a wuss Veggie. That's like the 8th time in a week you've said you're afraid of zombies. Go see Dawn of the Dead already. It'll be good for ya.
Yes, I am a wuss. The undead freak me out.
The new Dawn of the Dead proved that zombies kicked fucking ass.
you and Kidnemo are both puss'
This doesn't mean it's the end of the zombie rein in Resident Evil, it's just nice to get a break.
I'm bored with zombies, doesn't mean Capcom can't deliver the scary.
Mad Hicks are not scary. At least not to me. When they attack Leon, they dont even bite him :( They use weapons, which is different (and chainsaw bit is satisfying), but I want good old biting and ripping and devouring of the flesh.
It seems like RE now falls the victim of 28 Days "Rage" or whatever other virus idea, is popular to copy now :( At least these guys dont run.
The big monsters are still cool though.
No doubt. That boat battle looks too cool.Quote:

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill, red-necks… not knowing what the hell their problem is can be creepy. I’m Especially curious as to why these dudes start to relax after the bell rings.
i'm not sure what you're referring to, but the idea of the game is that the main character has multiple personality disorder.Quote:

That's one of the reasons I liked Manhunt. The zombies in the old RE games just stood around rooms and if you got near they'd lunge at you, sometimes they'd come at you but nothing you could usually just run past. However, being hunted by large groups of freaks that use tactics like in Manhunt is terrifying, and I'm sure it'll be the same in RE4.
I am refering to everyone having the last name Smith :)Quote:
