Ehh, I hope that this characterization of Derek Lowe as being an over-rated loser holds up, so the Red Sox can resign him on the cheap. He's an excellent #3 workhorse pitcher who has got at least a couple more 15 win seasons in front of him as long as he has solid infield defense behind him. He's not an ace and doesn't deserve ace money, but at the right price he's a great pickup.Quote:

Um, no the Mets fans would rather kill themselves then becoming Yankees fans, even as shitty as they are now. Back in the late 80's and early 90's when the Mets and Yankees relative fortuness were reversed, I was still a die-hard fan and never considered switching teams. The rivalry between the two teams is much more intense imho then the Yankees-Sox: its nowhere near as one-sided, and the fans cohabit the same areas making the fan rivalries more intense.Quote:

Looks like Howe is out as manager at seasons end. In fact.. daily news says Oct 3rd is when he'll be fired.

If the players really did "give up" then I think they are all fucking gutless assholes and I hope NOBODY shows up to Shea for the rest of the year unless its to root for the OTHER team. Fuck them if they don't want to try.. except for David Wright who is the future of this franchise and looks to be the real deal.
