Man, dont get your hopes up. In 1999, the Mets were down 3-0 to the Braves and then won game 4 and 5 in thrilling fashion. Game 5 went 15 innings and was the most spectacular, amazing baseball game Ive ever witnessed and probably will ever witness. Game 6 was turning into another one of those great games but the team just ran out of steam in the 11th.

And the Braves had a similar psychological hold on the Mets at that time. Winning 4 in a row to your arch-enemy is tough, winning 4 in a row to your arch-enemy when the arch-enemy has such a psychological advantage is near impossible.

of course, I hope the Sox pull it off.

W in Game 6 from Schilling
W in Game 7 from Tom Brady

I will never forget how that 6th game finished with that fucking bastard Kenny Rogers walking Andrew Jones. What a heartbreaker. Boy that was a hell of a ballclub with Olerud, Ordonez, Ventura and Alfonzo as the great defensive infield. Also, I think that '99 season had that amazing Mets comeback at Shea against the Braves. Something like 8 runs in the 8th inning with a Piazza homer to top it off. Man..that seems like an eternity ago. <sigh>


Back on topic. The Red Sox bullpen was totally taxed yesterday. I don't see how they could make that big comeback. You could always bring in Wakefield just in case, but boy oh boy I hope the Sox makes in interesting.

Boston saved on a lucky bounce down the right field line off the bat of Tony Clark. Yet another extra inning game.

I, for one, will be watching the St. Louis MNF game instead. :)

Personally, I don't even want the Yankees to win. I just want the Red Sox to lose oh so badly.

Saturn Nuts K's Sheffield! I want Tragic's mom to lose oh so badly. Win or lose I enjoyed this season. Hopefully Ortiz can make it 3 walkoffs.
