I would post some scores, but Master mode doesn't work in SMB1 like it does in SMB2. In SMB1 the only way to play Master mode is by going through all the Expert and Expert Extra levels without using a continue. So, all of my high scores for Expert/Master mode are recorded on the same chart. And since none of my Master mode scores are as good as my level 50 score, it would be pointless to post it.

Just a few minor updates. I finally made a perfect run through Beginner, and I inched closer towards perfection in advanced mode. Once I become consistent at hitting the warp in level 11 I'll have that mode in the back of my pocket.

Expert mode continues to give me trouble when playing for score, and I haven't been able to make it to Master mode without the 1-2 extra lives received by going for bananas and not for score.

Yes, I know, those scores probably look impossible, but they are not. There are special strategies used to obtain such high scores. In Beginner, you need to get every banana possible up to B8, then on that floor get every banana and fall out. Repeat that until you can't repeat it anymore, then do the rest of the levels fast, and you'll have about 2000 more points than normal. In Advanced, on A11, you can go down the left .1, turn around at the end and go down the .2, hit off the second white thing and bounce back to the start of the level, then get the three bunches at the right .1 slot, then fall out. This gets you 105 bananas, therefore you get an extra life every time you complete it, so you can repeat as many times as you want. For Expert, on E9, I did the .2 then hopped over to the .1 and did it backwards then fell out. That will get you 190 bananas so you get an extra life every time. On my Expert score, I had to do that for about 20 hours. It wasn't a fun experience, but I was determined to break 10 million.

That's an awful long way to go for that Expert score. Couple of questions:

What are B/AX levels? Are these new ones that come after the EX levels, or does it loop?

I assume M10 stands for Master 10- can you only access the Master levels after completing Expert each time, or are they displayed in the menu after you open them up? Amazing scores, btw.

B stands for Beginner, AX stands for Advance Extra. You can only play the Master levels if you go through Expert without continuing, they aren't displayed on the menu after you open them up. You can play them in practice mode and challenge mode, just not normal mode.
