I hear IoA is better than Universal as a whole. Better rides.
Islands of Adventure is MUCH more fun if you're into the roller coasters. I was only at them for a very short time, but IoA was indeed superior. It's been a while, though, and I can only hope it's got better.
When in may? I'm gonna be there the 14th and 15th with my girlfriend. I really hope the new Mummy ride is open by then.
Exact same weekend, lol.Quote:

There are five different themed areas in IOA:
Marvel Superhero Island (main attractions are the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster and the Spiderman ride), Toon Lagoon (Popeye's water raft ride and Dudley Do Right's log flume), Jurrasic Park (and you relly feel like you're there, music and all) Dr. Seuse Landing, and the Lost Continent (which has the Dueling Dragons, two interweaving rollercoasters, fire and ice).
The Incredible Hulk ride is sick, I tell you.
Spiderman ride is off the chain. I love that friggin' ride.
The Popeye ride is WET!! Be prepared to get drenched. I had to take off my shirt cause otherwise I would be walking around totally wet.
Dudley Do Right is hella fun. One word of warning: during the last stretch, HOLD THE HELL ON!!!
Jurrasic Park is mad cool. My friends and I were screaming at all the wrong, most innapropriate moments.
Dueling Dragons is great, but not as good as the Incredible Hulk. It's too short, but fun. Plus it's actually two separate rides.
I just came from Florida less than two weeks ago, so everything is still fresh in my mind. I can answer almost any question about Islands of Adventure you may have.
I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Islands of Adventure last year. Holy shit, was it ever awesome. Sonofdon is very right - The Incredible Hulk is a crazy ride. Dueling Dragons too. It was so much fun riding the rides at night.
Islands of Adventure is insanely awesome good lord. If you're into comic books at all walking around in the Marvel section is totally fucking awesome, there are superheroes everywhere. The Hulk and Spiderman are the best rides there.
The Hulk is just really instense, my brother and I went on it like 9 times when we went there, the line however, is very annoying but well worth it.
Spiderman is just downright neat, I wish I could have gone on it more.
Dueling Dragons was okay, pales in comparrison to The Hulk but they're good for a change of pace.
The Dr. Doom Doom... drop.. thing was kinda cool. It has a cool set up when going in there, and it was fun if not short.
Heh, I went on one of the rides in the Dr. Seuss world with my mother and she screamed throughout the whole thing. The five year old child behind us was looking at her like she was a nut. Hell, she almost had a panic attack in the line for Spiderman (Which is awesome by the way, you go through the office of the Bugle).
Overall, Islands of Adventure is really fricking awesome and well worth the trip. I am quite partial to Busch Gardens Williamsburg as my favorite place to go though.
My brother was telling me about that, he said they spent millions on effects and had professional sfx workers doing stuff on it. I really would like to go, it sounds nuts.Quote:

I think the Siderman 3-D ride is a must ride. Go there early, though. The line later on is nothing to sneeze at. :xx:
Dugley Do Rights ride is... in a word...
...evil.
But still a must ride. :)
I think there are Jurrassic Park rides in both of the parks. Any help with this, guys?
I had a blast as I love both Halloween and amusement parks. I went to Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens last year as well. I would have to say that Halloween Horror Nights was better overall. Can't wait until I move to Tampa and even closer to the parks.Quote:

OMFG is it ever evil. I seriously felt like I was free-falling. And if I got a leg spasm or something, I'd be a goner towards the end there. I'm seriously surprised they can get away with so little harnessing on that ride.Quote:

I don't know, as both times I went to Universal I only went into Islands of Adventure.Quote:

I really gotta try to get a group of friends together for like five days to a week and go. I love it there.
You guys need to stay on site like at the Hard Rock Hotel. That's what I did last year with my girlfriend. You get free express passes to all of the parks. First thing we did when we got to IoA was ride Spider-Man 3 times and we'd pick out a group of people and see where they were in line as we jetted to the front 3 times :)
Also: Jurrasic Park River Adventure is only to be rode at Night, where it will scare the bajeezus outta you.
I couldn't agree with you more. I went there 3 years ago and stayed at the Portafino with the same treatment. Nothing like not ever having to wait for a ride. I went back there the next year and stayed somewhere else. What a mistake. I'm heading back there at the end of May and I'm staying at the newest hotel of Universals. I'll never go there again without staying at one of those places for the fast pass access.Quote:

How much did you guys spend on the hotel each night? Looks like they are all kind of pricey seeing as I can get tickets to theme parks for about $55 each.
I think it was somewhere round 200ish a night. But we got there late, and they gave our room out to somebody else....
So they bumped us up to Cloncierge level, with free brew, and snacks all day long.
Do you mean the launch? Isn't it pretty obvious? I mean...just look at it.Quote:

Islands of Adventure is the most fun I've ever had at a theme park.. you'll be glad you went. And yeah.. the Hulk coaster.. unbelievable.
Universal Studios, though, is showing its age a bit.. Jaws is cheesy, but the new MIB ride is cool. Back to the Future is still fun.
It's pretty awesome working at Halloween Horror Nights. You basically get paid for scaring the living shit out of people. You get paid 7.50 an hour but for every 45 minutes you work you get a PAID 45 minute break. They basically hire anyone and you meet some cool poeple (I worked at the Screamhouse of Fear and i got to work with the lizardman that guy hit on anything with tits). And occasionaly you scare some famous people. This year i got to scare: Dee Sinder, Cory Feldmen, HULK HOGAN (i got him good too), but the one that takes the cake is Brittany Spears i defintley made her scream and i was inches away from her the only thing prevent me from coping a feel were the giant bodyguards that would beat to a bloody, clown pulp.Quote:

Did Hulk Hogan yell "WHOA BROTHER YOU GOT ME GOOD, SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND EAT YOUR VITAMINS."
By the way, I only know early 90s Hulk Hogan.
