Use your PS2 EyeToy as a PC Webcam

I think I installed it right, but how do I use it? I need software don't I?

I just downloaded PC Private Eye because it was the first thing I found, but I'm sure there are far better programs that someone else could recommend.

If you just want to be sure if it's running right, the folder you had the setup files in has a program called AMCAP and it'll show a picture if it's working.

I needed nothing additional to use it with Yahoo Messenger.

No idea if I can use a cam with AIM, or how.

How do you take a picture with it? I have the Eyetoy up and running as a webcam but I can't capture any pictures with it!

One of the applications (OV519CAP, I believe) from d-link lets you save the pics. When your cam in enabled, there's an option to pause the broadcast from the cam, and then save the frame (like I did for the image above). Keep in mind, the images will be saved in .dib format, so you have to use an image editing program to convert them to .jpg). Hope that helps.

Burg: It's like I told you awhile ago, AIM seems to be all quirky. I went and used the Wizard too to get things set up, and I still ended up with nothing. Just added proof, AIM ain't all that. ;)

I used print screen.

Theres a torrent up for Eyetoy Drivers on Suprnova. Just do a search for "eyetoy" and you'll find it. Tons of seeds, it only took me less than a minute.

I'm really thinking of buying an Eyetoy this Thursday and trying it out. Wheres the cheapest place to snag one?
