That's the exact point at which I turned it off last night. So ridiculous.
I need to go find a good spot to grind now.
That's why I chose the word 'iterations' - they've put out like 5 products from the Persona line but the real SMT games they've left alone. I don't begrudge anybody who wants to play Persona, but playing Nocturne I can't help but think how spectacular this could be if they did one for PS3 - nobody makes games like this anymore.Quote:

Eh, Nocturne was still a dungeon crawler, just not first person. Also, I don't want my new SMT to be DS... booo.
I want SMT4 on 360 or PS3. Although I guess it's better DS than Wii.
Oh well, too late now. I'm 6 levels higher. But at least I can command some kickass demons now. Too bad my healer pixie decided to change her healing spell into something useless so I had no choice but to fuse her to get a healer back. With a Jack Frost no less. I feel kind of bad about it.Quote:

The only other main SMT game I've played is the second one on Super Famicom, and the only significant difference I see with Nocturne is an on-screen avatar. Other than that it feels remarkably similar.
Strange Journey does look pretty awesome though.
Right, I was just saying that for anybody who might only really know the SMT line from Nocturne. Strange Journey could feel like a weird retro-style game for those new to the series, when in fact that's exactly what the previous games were like.
And for good or bad, we have to start getting used to the fact that major new games from Japan are going to be on handhelds, now that even the Wii isn't lighting up the charts over there. At this point, as much as I want it on PS3 and/or Xbox 360, I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see Persona 5 hit the PSP.
I picked this game up again after leaving it for a year. In retrospect I'm not sure why, I keep thinking how much I love the look and ideas behind it. Probably had something to do with the fact that ONGYO-KI IS A TOTAL BASTARD. I mean really, how unfair is that guy? How could you ever win that battle without a FAQ, unless you got lucky and stumbled on him at the exact time you needed to? Maybe that was their intent, since they made the fight skippable.
Just got past Asakusa, I'm at about 40 hours. I kind of want to check out Digital Devil Saga after this, but I'm not sure I'll ever have the time. This game is long enough, I've only got like half the Magatsuchi and I can fuse demons that are still like 12 levels above me so I know there has to be tons more.
