What constitutes a minor? Laws differ you know. I wouldn't mess with a minor here, since the legal age is 14 and I've yet to meet anyone under said age who I find attractive. I don't see what age has to do with anything. It's not like you gain common sense the moment you turn 18. Contrary to popular belief, 18 is not a magic age where you are suddenly mature and able to deal with anything.

two things.
1. an adult can have an "underdeveloped psyche".
2. A minor can have a psyche developed.
While there may be extreme ages where either is a probablecertainty for the typical human, if we're judging based on the "psyche", then the conclusion should be "its ok to have sex with a minor if their psyche is properly developed" and not related to age at all.
Indeed, we should realize that being an adult isn't about being informed and being granted privileges because of that. In most cases, It's about being granted privileges, whether you are informed or not.
Let's forget about sex for a moment. This is a question to those who outright dismiss minors. Say you met this girl, she stated she was 18. You get to know her, come to love her and then it happens, you learn she is 17. Do you all of a sudden think of her in a different way purely based on her age?
Obviously there is "too young", but what makes 18 more mature than 17? There is no magic that happens at the age of 18. I've known minors that had a heck of a lot more common sense than some 20 year olds. Age should have nothing to do with it, your "psyche" does not automatically develope the second you turn 18.

First, this crap about "if she's 17, no way, if she's 18, absolutely!" is BS. Just because you go up in age by one year, you aren't automatically mature and responsible. The major factor comes in from what you DO with that attraction. If you just look, but don't touch, I see no problem with that. As well, I don't think you can just make the blanket statement that ALL 16 year old girls aren't mature enough to have sex.
Would I HAVE sex with one, though, is the question. I think back to my own life, and how I've matured over time. I wasn't in a place to truly be able to fully deal with sex when I was 16. Hell, I still can't believe some of the mistakes I've made at 18, or 21, or even 25. As Aaliyah (R.I.P.) once sang "Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number". Age doesn't bestow upon an individual developed psyches, maturity, and responsibilty. That comes with each indviduals own personality traits as well as life experiences and how they've dealt with them. If she were somewhere in the 16-17 age-range (might make an exception for a 15) I would, if several conditions were met.
1. We, as in BOTH of us, were truly in love and truly wanted to be intimate with one another physically.
2. She simply wouldn't take no for an answer. And believe you me, I'd postpone it as long as I could not just for fear of getting caught, but to see if it were something she truly wanted.
3. I failed in all my attempts to suggest we wait until she's older and more developed (mentally of course), and see how well our relationship would hold up on a more platonic level. We'd engage in other intimate acts of course, just not sex.
4. I felt comftorable I wasn't in any way taking advantage of her. If she were taking advantage of ME, however...mweheh :evil:

Really, the minor laws are justifited for what they are. But I've met girls and guys who are mature enough at 16 to handle the experiences of sex, and even a few who handle politics, life, finanaces, and priorties better than me (though thats not hard as I'm nuts) and a lot of people my age.
Also for the record, those in this thread who make blanket statements such as " I will never date anyone more than three years younger or older than me" are full of shit.
You'll go after who you are attracted to no matter what.
If you meet a chick loves the same games, bands, movies, and people as you, then your gonna click with her whether or not she's of "consenting age"
P.S. The saddest thing of all really, is that in these weird minor relationships, the adult figure tends to be the more illogical, immature one.

I think the mentality and maturity gap between each year from 13 to 18 is much larger than the gap between each year later in life, so though the age difference in relationships of older people may be of much larger range, in your teens, and especially early teens, I don't really think experimentation should be outside of people your own age (because at that age, that's what it should be; experimentation, not somebody twice your age teaching you what to do). It's can't be an unbending rule, though, because of course you never know who you'll meet, or the situation you'll be in, but in general, I'd have to say no.
