yeah i was reading that, but it's locked ;_;
I'm in the middle of watching Once upon a time in Highschool aka Legend of Jeet Kun Do and gotta say it's pretty awesome.
I'm not trying to be an ass, even though I'm going to be, so heh... I'd just like to make an announcement: Not every screwball comedy, corny martial arts or graphic horror movie ever made in Asia/Japan are movies *you must see*. You guys need to expand your movie horizons a bit and be a little bit more discriminating.[/me being an ass]
Once Upon a Time in Highschool is pretty good though. Just finished watching it.
I have seen it a while back, and it was a good movie. Not an action movie, but more of high school story, but it gave me some nostalgia about my young years, and some fights in it were good, especially final beatdown on the roof.
If there's any Jackie Chan fans left out there you should check out New Police Story. It's perhaps Jackie Chan's best movie since he started doing Hollywood stuff. He's older, a step slower and the storyline seems ridiculous at times... but it's been awhile since I've seen Jackie Chan in a movie that doesn't involve him looking like a clown and doing stunts involving furniture.
Also, I recently watched Casshern. It's not the greatest movie... but the stylistic CG moments are enough to warrant checking it out.
I just finished watching 'Taegukgi', a film about two brothers struggling to stay alive during the Korean War.
Thought it was an incredible film. You guys need to check this one out. Give it a rental atleast.
There are 2 great war movies, that came out of Korea recently: Tae Guk Gi and Silmido. Both have a look into the history of Korea and deal with North and South going through years, or war and hate. Both present human drama, and mix it well with battle scenes and gritty violence of war.
I'll check out Silmido, heard some good things about it.
I'm gonna have to check out Shiri and JSA too.
