I never figured Konami made anything outside of the Aliens arcade from years back, but I found out they were selling these in Japan.
The detail is quite good and the AR figure actually looks cool compared to the movie maniacs set.

I like the shape and color with the right amount of gloss detail added. Now if only they'd make the marines set to go with it.
Ph33r my Lego Alien Soldier that I made when I was 6...
...well, you would've feared it had my cousins not destroyed parts of it to make some gay multi-coloured drag racer...
The McFarlane ones are already pretty damned nice. Even though these Japanese ones are cool, the McFarlane one has a pop-out inner jaw :D
Plus the Queen Alien playset is one of the most unbelievably awesome toys ever. You can take the chest burster in the victim and rotate it and pop it in and out of it's chest. Woo hoo! Pain and agony + 1.
That's pretty good work for 6. I miss making shit out of Legos like that. A lot of creativity seems to be sucked out of Legos, with Bionicle and all that crap. There's specialty blocks for everything and things you can piece together one way but lack the room for real creativity and using your imagination. People like that brick artist who made the lifesize Han Solo in carbonite make me feel good.Quote:

That sort of lego building is not dead. Do a search for anything you really like and put lego in front of it. You would be suprised what you find. There is probably a lego version of most mecha anime, star wars ship, and military machine ever made, somewhere online.Quote:

Color me impressed.
Speaking of which, I think if I get the McFarlane types, I'll have to give it a good repaint to reflect the darker color and light reflection of the movies. Does anyone have a clue what works best for that?
