Not really a fan of the Myst games myself, but I just got into Uru and am liking it. Think I got into it due to the nice looking 3d engine rather than the prerendered stuff. Fantastic visuals and audio. If I find myself loving the game by the end then interest in Myst 4 will be there. Wasn't Uru part 4 though?? mm..
Myst gets bashed so hard, but I enjoy it. It's a nice escape, and I enjoy some of the puzzles, unlike most of those found in the survival-horror genre.
They always said URU wasn't Myst IV and that they'd been working their asses off on the actual Myst IV for years. Didn't know it was this close though. Great news! Myst might very well be my favorite franchise ever.
I hate E3 but seeing the Myst III preview for the first time in their little mini-theatre literally nearly brought a tear to my eye back in... what was it, 2000? 2001? It's moments like those that make the hellish E3 circus worth the hassle.
Not here to bash the game but I'm surprised Myst has any kind of following on this board. I've only played the first one, which forced me to cheat my ass off, and its lack of an ending was enough to get me to not like the game.
I guess they still sell so... cool for the people interested.
I thought the first myst was extremely well done. Once you got a hankering for the type of logic they used on the puzzles, they became very smooth to solve. If you couldn't step into the developer's brain a bit, then yeah that game would be a bitch.
I haven't played any other mysts.
MYST 4 REVELATION!!
It still sucks.
Perhaps I was too young to be playing Myst (or too stupid, entirely possible), but I couldn't find any sort of logic to the problems. But I'm sure there must be, seeing as how a lot of people seemed to enjoy the game and apparently got through it without a walkthrough. Granted, I must have been like, twelve?Quote:

Myst IV is the direct sequel to Myst III yes.
I love these games soooo much.Riven was just mind blowing.Great atmosphere, great music, great characters, great depth (as in they developed a whole LANGUAGE and NUMBERING system; a CULUTURE a true culture!).
Myst fans know what my nick stands for ;)
The last part anyways :p
Oh boy, another bland Myst game my mother will probably enjoy.
Mzo is (probably) right.
