My stand on this is the same as every videogame-based movie. It could work if it's done by someone who is a fan of the games. Sadly, most videogame-based films are produced by imbeciles that don't care about the property and shouldn't be making movies in the first place. It's hard to determine at this point whether Woo cares about Metroid or is he just cashing in on the recent success of Prime and the two GBA games.
