I know. It just that poor Vernita got almost no backstory at all, where every other character got at least a small flashback, or behind the scenes story.Quote:

I watched the Uncut version, and poor Sophie does loose more than in regular edition.
How do you watch the Uncut version?
Got me Japanese edition.
I wish it was the Uncut version of both Vol 1 and Vol 2 put together by QT though.
I wonder if Bill vs Michael Jai White swordfight will be in Jap release of Vol 2.
The difference is that each of the Lord of the Rings films actually had a beginning, middle and an ending (not to mention not everyone has the patience to watch a nine-hour film in a theater). Kill Bill Vol. 1 ends in the middle and then expects you to pay 5 bucks to see the ending seperately. Even if that's not how Tarantino originally made the film, that's how he decided to market it in the end (contrary to popular belief, it was his decision to split the film in half).Quote:
It didn't resolve itself, true. But neither did LotR. Frodo and Sam were still journeying and Sarumans forces were still gathering against mankind. A smaller resolution happened, and in Kill Bill one that small resolution was Bill finding out she was alive.
Don't get me wrong guys, Kill Bill Vol.2 wasn't a bad film by any way, I still enjoyed it, but it was only half good (no pun intended) as I thought it would be. I probably expected too much of an action fest, but what else can I expect from movie titled "Kill Bill"? All in all, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 was a cool movie as a whole, but viewing them as seperate films is almost pointless. Can you imagine if film directors decide to distribute all their movies in halves? Is a gimmick that should die before it becomes a trend.
Its a fuckin truth. :nod:Quote:

I do agree that it's not as strong as the LotR's ending.
If the second half would have been the first half over again you would've had The Punisher Version 2. or whatever other revenge movie comes out now. Yes, they would make a better unit. But splitting them up didn't somehow ruin the amazing qualities of each half.Quote:

This movie was better then just a simple action movie. It transcends a lot of barriers and becomes a fusion of other genre's and formats. That is amazing.
I read in a magazine at work the other day that when the 2 disc version comes out it will be the versions that have only been released in Japan and Hong Kong so far.
Also there won't be credits at the end of vol.1, just a sign that says intermision, and the driving scene in the the start of vol.2 is gone. hopefully it won't take a year for this to come out.
The driving scene was originally the beginning of the whole movie. So maybe he'll just move it to were it originally was?Quote:
