Recent good games that went under the radar...

I’ve been in a slump lately. It’s one of those situations, where I want to play a game, but I don’t really have any that I want to play, and I can’t think of one that I want to get. THUG and Colin Mcrae 4 recently gave me some entertainment, but as fifth and fourth installments in series that I have already played to death, they really weren’t the new experience I was looking for.

I’m looking for suggestions. Games that came out within the last year or so, that are good, but didn’t get good reviews, the coverage they deserved, or whatever the reason might be that the bulk of us have not played them.

Beyond Good & Evil
Wario World
Gitaroo Man

I just want titles, that to you seem like no-brainers, but to the average public, and possibly to me and others, seem like nothing worth our time. Hopefully myself, and any others in the same boat, can find something new and different. Thanks in advance.

Deus Ex: Invisible War. It seems like many people have avoided it because it's not as good as its predecessor but every action/adventure fan should play it.

that's the first game that came to mind.

another good one is metal arms. it may not look it, but it's an excellent action game. a long one, too. the best part is that the game doesn't ever really get stale. each level (there are >=40) manages to feel very different from the others.

the xbox version just dropped to $20. buy.

The Sufferring is very cool mix of horrors of Silent Hill and action of Max Payne. Very atmospheric, with lots of cool action and scares. Prison is Hell and the mosters are inspired. Definately a good game for horror fans to check out.

Max Payne 2 didn't do as good as it could've.

No kidding, I just got it the other day, and it has been horrible. Maybe I'll take it back and use the money to get Metal Arms (I've heard good things, and epmode describes it well). I'll wait for other recomendations before I make a decision though.

That's all that I can think of recently that seemed under the radar to me. Of course, a couple of those weren't very under the radar but are good nonetheless.

Maybe you might want to go back into your library for games, or look further back (Saturn, PSX, SNES, Genesis, etc).

Maybe it's relative, but games like NFL Street, DC2 and DE:IW certainly didn't fly under the radar.

Domestic releases in the last 12 months? I'm hard-pressed to think of much. BG&E, WE7, PN03, Metal Arms...probably a couple more.
