Guardian Heroes Advance on the way?

It does need multiple carts.

You can't even play Vs mode without other players ;_;

Slowdown didn't bother me and I already ran through it once on normal though =\

No, it's just underwhelming. It's still a solid brawler with good levels and a fun gameplay system. It just doesn't really excel.

But then I'm not a real fan of traditional beatemups, which this more closely resembles than Treasure's other attempts at the genre.

So, in a genre that Treasure helped perfect essentially with the original GH, they just produce a lackluster me too attempt of everything else out there?

I love traditional beat 'em ups and it's underwhelming for me too. It's no Streets of Rage 2.

I'm warming up to the game, now. I beat it and started unlocking characters.

I'm sure everyone will be thrilled to learn that all of your old favorites are playable in Story Mode.

No... I wouldn't call it a "me too attempt of everyhting else out there" any more than Radiant Silvergun is a "me too" attempt at every other shooter. Guardian Heroes wasn't really a refinment of the genre, it was a major break from it.

Just saying that Guardian Heroes, Tiny Toons, Astro Boy, etc don't really resemble the arcade beatemup format, and this does. That doesn't mean it plays like anything else, just speaking of the format itself. The move set and play mechanics are actually quite clever.

It's a good beatemup... Really no glaring flaws leap to mind, except the mediocre graphics and bad localization... It just... isn't great. It's better than Tiny Toons (which was decent) but not as good as Astro Boy. It's not A grade, but it's a solid B.

Wait, Tiny Toons was finally released? I remember hearing it delayed like crazy, and then it seemed there was no talk of it anymore, so I just assumed it was canceled.
