I'm the complete opposite. I could never play inverted.
I used to play inverted all the time, until I started to drag behind my friends in Halo. I switched to normal and haven't looked back since.
People who use inverted are freakshows. Like left handed people and the such.
Filight games ALWAYS inverted.
FPS pc : not inverted
FPS console : inverted.
I almost never play FPS, so I dunno there. But flight games, always inverted. I can't stand the other way.
And why did "default" become the default these days? That's not how real airplanes are. I never understood that.

Whatever the default is, I can go both ways (only in games mmmmk).
Inverted.
I play Rez normal. Inverted is for nutjobs.
In a FPS I'm aiming a gun, not flying a plane, so it has to be normal.
In a Flight game htough, it's just logical to have it inverted.
Console FPS - inverted
PC FPS - non-inverted
I'm a freak, I guess.
Inverted for flight games only.
Inverted for flight games, normal for FPSes.
Invert. I am used to using a mouse and it's natural. To look up in real life, you would pull your head back, just as you would a mouse on invert.

I used to be diehard anti-inverted until I started playing Crimson Skies. After I'd been playing that hardcore for a while I couldn't go back to default.
Normal, inverting is for fools or contortionists. Or both.
Flight games: inverted, always, for some reason when ever I'm flying a ship or plane my brain always defaults to the "pull down to climb up, push up to go down" mode for some reason.
FPS, console & PC: regular, maybe because most of the time the character is on foot so I'm not thinking in "plane mode" :)
Inverted at all times. Pull back to turn/look up, push forward to turn/look down. People who don't understand that are horrible genetic throwbacks without opposable thumbs.

Inverted.
Inverted.
Default controls are for two kinds of people: women, and those types who when mentioned in a derogatory manner here at TNL people get banned.
Inverted, always inverted.
inverted if game is on console. normal if it's on a pc.Quote:

I have to play FPS inverted, on console or PC. With rail shooters I prefer inverted but I can play non-inverted as well.
Inverted is winning. muahahahaha. :chu:
I don't see how that could affect your skills. It's just as fast to push the thumbstick down as it is to push it up.Quote:

I can't believe inverted is winning. No wonder you all suck so much at FPSes ;)
OK. I resurrected this for a reason.
Not too long ago, I played through Halo co-op with a friend, and forgot to switch to inverted. Instead of going back to the main menu and changing it, we just kept playing. We beat Halo in one sitting. And now I can't play with inverted controls, be it stick or mouse or anything.
I think I'd been wrong all along to play with inverted mouse controls, and have been cured by Halo's magical ninja powers.
Thank you, Halo.
Yeah, I can't stand inverted unless it's a flight sim. I'm like the only guy out of my friends who uses default.
Inverted, the first Starfox is to blame.
Down=Up
UP=Down
It's ok in StarFox and Panzer Dragoon. That's the way flying things SHOULD control.
On the PC, though, it's like moving the cursor around. Stop being a damn freak.
Inverted. Why?
Because when you need to look up in the real world, you pull you head "back" and look up. To look down, you lean your head "forward".

In FPSes, though, you're doing more than simply looking up and down. You're using very precise mouse movements. I've never heard of a good FPS player that uses inverted mouse look. They probably exist, but if you suck at FPSes and you use invert, just try regular.Quote:

Certainly on the PC we all use the mouse every day just on the desktop. And I think that definitely makes it much more natural for most people to use regular mouse-look in FPSes. But there's really no equivalent "desktop" controller action on the console (except maybe going through menus).
In conclusion, man I don't know. Use whatever you want.
Whatever the settings are on I pick up and play. I don't blame my suckiness on 'badly configured' controls. I'm so awesome I transcend them, and it's sad that none of you will know this level of power.
Especially Mzo.
Aw, geez =/
invert on a controller.
On a mouse doesn't matter, I suck with that configuration anyway.
But your not a real pilot if you don't invert, your just some wannabe.
Normal, my aiming sucks in Halo and Socom II and just about every other game when inverted and not a flight game.
See, wait... which is "default," which is "inverted?" I mean, because, to me, "default" would be airplane style, where up is down and down is up. Or is that classified as "inverted?"
On a computer, because you have a mouse and a specifically placed pointer if you are using aiming, I use non-airplane style. On a console, however, I always use airplane style. It just feels wrong otherwise.
You know, my mind often forgets because both of them make sense. I usualy cant make up my mind and then before you know it, the motion sickness kicks my ass and I cant do a damn thing. Sucks to be me.
