Now that I think about it more, unless Manhattan dies, what's the assumption at the end of them movie?
He says "Yeah, they are going to blame me for this and, though I could tell them and prove that it wasn't me, I think I'm going to let it slide since I'm gonna bail anyways."
Eh?
Fancy. The iTunes one-minute previews look slick.
I'm starting to get a real sickly "LXG" feel off of the more recent trailer...
Check your PM's.
I doubt that as a whole this movie can fail based solely on that alt ending. The characters remain the same, as does their motivation for the vast majority. The only difference is the catalyst that brings about the climax's moral quandry, and even then - all we have is vague second hand knowledge coming in.
Granted, I love this novel but even I came to the realization that no matter how cool it would be to see...he squid itself is just a representation for an "outside" threat. All Snyder did was replace one otherworldly being with another and change the "damage" that is done to the populace.
I also think it's sad to see such a fair weather fan attitude amongst people here, especially given that all we have to go on is conjecture. All reports are claiming that this is very true to the feel and tone (not to mention overall plot), yet when a giant squid is taken out and replaced - people see that (and only that) as the single defining proof if the entire films failure.
Get over yourselves.
Leonidas kills himself at the end of 300, jumping off a cliff, which, other than that, is a faithful representaion of the graphic novel.
Same result. Fundamental change.
Fail.
Coming from a pure movie experience. Yes an ending can make a whole movie suck.
I loved almost the entire movie of Superbad, but that ending where it looked like the two realized they were gay. I then hated the whole movie.
I thought the point of that movie was that the kids were gay for one another? That's the impression from the trailer anyway. And every other movie those two are in.
What the fuck ever dude. I don't have to like every single secondary incarnation of something I enjoy. Watchmen Cereal tastes like cardboard, and Watchmen Cutting Boards only hold up to three or four uses before you have to throw 'em out. Neither are particularly consistant with the original work, either...
Nice to hear from the FANDOM = MANDOM crowd, though.
