Watchmen

I've been ignoring this since I heard who was involved, but not it's immanent and I can't.

I have to say, they really did get the exact wrong guy to do this. Watchmen is not 300, it is not Sin City. The whole thing that made Watchmen cool was the way it added a greater sense of naturalism to the superhero thing, how it made them into real people with ordinary issues, who get hung up on the bullshit of life like everyone else. It handled an unrealistic subject matter in a more realistic way.

Sin City and 300 as comics were over the top, crazy, adolescent displays of testosterone. I don't know why they want to do that to Watchmen. Syder just figured "durr, it worked there, it'll work with any comic book."

So fuck this movie.

Nah, I don't really give a fuck, and won't unless someone tries to make me watch it. I'm perfectly content not to watch shitty movies. I still haven't seen Transformers, and I love the toys and the old cartoon, but I also no a movie that smells like shit from a mile away.

So far I haven't seen anything suggesting Watchmen has become 300. In fact, quite the opposite. There is not one scene in any video I've seen that wasn't in the graphic novel, and the dialogue has mostly been word-for-word.

Maybe you don't like Silk Specter's vagina or how Night Owl kicks a prisoner in slow motion. I'm really sorry if that, to you, suggests the movie is intellectually on the same level as Transformers.

As one who really enjoyed the graphic novel, I've been delighted with everything I've seen in this movie.
