Yeah, definitely. It's not so much his stature as his look and characterization. In the book, he just seems like an honestly nice guy and has this look of childlike optimism on his face, which makes the revelation that he's behind everything all the more surprising. In the movie you more get the sense that he's a pretty ruthless businessman; he just looks like a schemer from the get-go, so it's no big surprise when that turns out to be exactly the case.

I saw this in IMAX on Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn't put off by any of the changes even after finishig rereading the comic the same day.

I did chuckle a bit at the scene when Manhattan and the gang confront Veidt near the end. Not because of anything plot or dialogue related, but due to the fact that in a few close-ups of Nite Owl, in his goggles you didn't see Manhattan reflected but you saw Crudup in his LED suit.

If you really want that I suggest watching the Motion Comic. It's fucking 5 hours long and I don't think they left anything out.

The motion comic is pretty damn cool imo. I just loaned it to Doc and he watched it in two viewings, which if you know Doc is quite an achievement and means it must be pretty decent.
