I don't want to step into the middle of this ( he says as he steps in the middle ), and trust me - I like Xbox Live - but none of the games I've played have had dedicated servers. I know they do host a few for some of the games, and some ( like PGR2 ) are set up in a way that requires a host to make settings changes, etc. We've argued with Master about this before ( who works for MS ), and he pretty much said it's not up to Microsoft to host servers. This is my only beef with Live, games like Wolfenstein need servers - and I'm paying a monthly fee ( yea, yea, Live stats and data management bla bla bla ) and they ARE MICROSOFT for chrissakes, they could get up off their wallet and put up some servers.Quote:

So you mention one title out of 60+ playable on Live, and that's supposed to fix everything? I guess that makes up for all the Wolfensteins, Ghost Recons, Unreals, etc that were languishing on Live without dedicated servers for the past year-and-a-half or so, right? Or the constant delays of major Live releases like Halo 2, True Fantasy Live, and Fable (which has had its Live component scrapped now anyway)? Or the removal of Live play in the Xbox version of THUG and the cancellation of Xbox versions of games like Battlefield 1942 and Star Wars Galaxies? But if you're delusional like diffusionx apparently is, there's clearly nothing to complain about in regards to Live anymore and there's no way to improve the service.Quote:

Of course, you can rationalize this by saying "Microsoft is listening to complaints and correcting their mistakes," but then you're just overlooking the fact that they knew things like dedicated servers were a major selling point at the initial Live launch, yet MS failed to provide them as promised anyway - at least until the number of Live subscribers became stagnant for the past 6 months or so. Funny how that works, isn't it?
Even though Xbox Live is the best thing available for online play on consoles this gen, that doesn't make it perfect or even great. Maybe I just expect more from of a "premium" service. If this news turns out to be true, getting EA is definitely a huge step in the right direction though.
Yes, there is absolutely no way I could have purchased one or more games bundled with a free Live trial or played online at a friend's place via his subscription or as a guest. :rolleyes:Quote:

I haven't done any name-calling in this thread, and my previous post was typed up before Melf responded. So I didn't see his warning until after I had submitted. I have only been discussing Xbox Live, and I don't believe I have done anything to "shit on" his request. If he feels I have, he can let me know, as that is not my intent.Quote:

However, there are still plenty of other things about Live that MS needs to improve. And if you read sphere's post, you would see that I am not alone in thinking that.
They were so quick to ban all the other trolls, why the delay in banning Mamoscott, who obviously can't listen to a moderator's request?Quote:

I'm not sure which is worse, the idiots that think that everyone should love Xbox Live as much as they do or Mamoscott... being Mamoscott. Both are as obnoxious and retarded as each other.
Actually, I was talking to Sl1p, not Mamo. Mamo behaved himself and didn't give in to the darkside, which is cool. :)Quote:
