Awesome. The sound aspect has me really intrigued - I bet it's going to be incredible.

the multiplayer mode still sounds stupid, but considering how well the first game turned out, i'll keep an open mind.
how are they going to make this multiplayer and keep the orginal games controles? I'm lazy, I don't want my target buton taken away.
I'm going to guess that there will be no Metroid Prime in this game, and if that ends up being the case, the title sucks completely.
I really hope there's some cool new power-ups for Samus, otherwise this will feel very re-hashy to me. Metroid Prime succesfully brought every cool power-up from Super Metroid into 3D (sans the dash and screw attack), but not too much new. It really felt like Super Metroid in 3D, so hopefully this'll add something new to the mix. Then I'm all over it.
Metroid Prime is probably the most rock solid game production that I ever played. The music, the graphics, the controls.. EVERYTHING came together into this piece of art.
Is the producer (Michael Mann) the very same guy that directed Heat and Miami Vice? Does anyone know?
Ps. I dont think its fair to compare Halo to Metroid Prime. I played Halo, albeit not online or in multiplayer mode, but it doesn't even come near the aesthetic quality of Metroid Prime.
pps. I also don't care much for the multiplayer aspect of Metroid 2 Echoes. Whatever happened to the singleplayer gaming experience?
I agree that there is no real need for the multiplayer aspect, but you gotta satisfy the mainstream reviewers somehow.
I doubt it's the same Mann. The Retro Studios one was previously at Acclaim I think but that's all I know.Quote:

Q: Any plans to introduce a dual-analog control setup for simultaneous movement and aim in Metroid Prime 2?
A: When we released Metroid Prime, we did get some feedback with people saying, "Why didn't you make this dual-analog control?" They said that what we did was not how first-person shooters were supposed to work. We replied that we didn't make a first-person shooter -- we made Metroid. That's what we decided and that's what we're staying with.
