Well, technically, it's a new house with a a new coat of paint, but a similar house. They're both 2 story Victorians, but of course both are very different.
And it doesn't seem to be slapped together, rather another finely crafted Metroid adventure that took a little while to come out. You can't stop sequels. You might as well say that Microsoft had Bungie slap together another Halo, because that single player experience was balls-awful. Same goes for Vice City.
